No one hates Nussmeier we are just waiting for the guy to show up that you wanted to bench a Heisman winner for on multiple occasions

You have some fun posts about Jayden Daniels too.

Funny how this discussion tends to trigger the same people.

So, that’s a no.

Got it. I will refrain from making fun of retards. It’s a 2024 resolution I have.

lawd - are you all going to spend the entire season rehashing debates from the previous two years while simultaneously calling each other racists?

Let's just end it here and move on, shall we?

JD grew up a lot in his two years. He showed flashes of brilliance as well as frustration in 2022. His jump between 2022-2023 was other worldly and he is one of the best QBs to ever play college ball.

The coaches made the right decision to start him over Nuss both seasons.

Nuss is an amazing team player and a baller. He's going to be incredible this season. He is also not without some flaws. If he can develop more pocket presence/awareness and not backpedal so often, he's also going to be elite.

I think Nuss will be fine, but it bothers me that he is always throwing falling backwards and it's not just when he has someone in his face.

Nuss played a great game, with one very bad throw into the end zone that should have been picked off by USC.

...and the pick sixes negated by penalties, right?

I'm high on Nuss, but let's not crown him the greatest non-Heisman LSU QB in history. He's a gunslinger and playing well (at times). Let's leave it at that.

People act like just cause nuss has been here 4 years he should be ready.

He has barely played. This is his first year getting real snaps. I think he will be back next yr as of now.

I think most rational, reasonable people accept this.

There is a contingent who is over-pumping Nuss and there's a huge overlap in that population with the population who dragged JD for 2 years to promote Nuss.

As I've posted a few times, it's not fair to Nuss to put those sort of expectations on him, especially this year.

And I just encourage folks to be reasonable. Threw 6 TDs against Nicholls - that's rarefied company. He does have a funny throwing posture and I think that lets air under some balls. On the other hand, he has confidence and ability to make most big league throws.

That's a weapon and he has played well. However, he is not an overwhelming, dominant player on the order of 2019 Joe Burrow or 2023 Jayden Daniels. Who is? Folks want him to be as good as 2018 Joe Burrow or 2022 Jayden Daniels and I'm not sure he's there yet.

QB...is...not...the...problem...in...2024. We cannot run the ball consistently and the defense remains Charmin-soft. Those are the problems in 2024.

And this inability to run (due to bad scheme) is making us throw a ton and his counting stats are being inflated in kind, which is setting people up to over-pump him. His ypa and rating are more bottom of the top 1/3 or middle range.

Anyone that blames Nuss for any of our bad play is just football ignorant.
Just imagine what this team would be without him. We win probably 0 games in the SEC.
Find other places to vent on poor play.....there are plenty to choose from.

He is definitely there. It's really more a matter of people who hated on him to pump JD for 2 years refusing to give him credit now because it makes them look bad. They constantly claimed he never got snaps and didn't start because he sucked. Many bitter about a smart decision over a meaningless bowl game. Others well you know. Still holding that grudge today and refusing to give him credit while also attempting to blame him for things that have nothing to do with him. Nuss has lived up to expectation. The rest of the team has not.

Didn't happen.

Is not happening now, either.

Saying he's not as good as a guy who was a historically good CFB QB is not "hating" on Nuss.

It's like saying Brandon Lafell wasn't as good as Jamar Chase, or Jonathan Zenon wasn't as good as Patrick Peterson.
