A friend is going to the LSU game this weekend...he is getting a car service back to NOLA after the game. Is there an easy spot for the driver to meet him?

Would Tiger Land be a good spot? or would it be better for them to meet at the small parking lot on Stanford by the LSU lakes (Wampold park)...

Thanks in advance...

Don’t know the right answer but I can almost guarantee that this isn’t a good idea. Stanford would be the better option.

It's nearly impossible to drive into campus, so he would need to walk a bit.

Both of your suggestions might work, but not ideal.

The park on Stanford could be a challenge since the police block traffic going toward LSU at that crosswalk light when the game ends (or just prior). Traffic backs up along Stanford for quite a distance since it’s completely stopped at the crosswalk. The parking spots in the park are completely filled by game time.

Does he have any friends going to the game? Best idea is to catch a ride off campus and get dropped off at a hotel or restaurant away from campus.

Corner of Perkins and Stanford …unfortunately that is a long walk.

Have them come back into campus after the game starts. Pull on to Skip Bertman just pass railroad tracks and across from the football ops building. Did this for the Alabama game last year. I got back to New Orleans before some of my friends that have parking passes were able to get home in BR. Routes you through downtown but moved at a good pace 90% of the time to I-10

Tell your friend to either be prepared to make a long walk or wait for a good couple hours until contraflow dies down. If he can walk that far, probably just walk down Burbank all the way to The Shed or Lakeside Daiquiri and they can probably get picked up there (about a 4 mile walk). A ride service is not going to be able to get to Tigerland or the lakes on Stanford for at least a couple of hours after the game.

Sad thing is by the time they walk that far contraflow will probably be close to ending. Might as well just try to head back to a tailgate if possible to wait it out and then try to get a ride when the chaos dies down.

Could just buy a parking pass for the driver and have him wait, he would just be doing the same thing off campus anyways. He’s going to have to do a lot of walking to get off campus

The Perkins overpass area is the fastest way out.

Nah.

If he can get to Stanford, he’s golden.

Wampold is blocked in for contraflow out on Stanford. The best place is to meet up at John M Parker Ag Colosseum but the driver would have to be there before the game ends because S Stadium is contraflowed outbound.

There are car services meeting people in the parking lot that was Alex box.

And the parking lot that is just across the railroad tracks from old Alex box.

I do not know how they get there. Because both of those lots are parking pass lots

I’ve had success scheduling my driver in advance and having them meet over by the tennis courts. The only caveat is that they must get in early enough to avoid contra flow, which i believe starts near the beginning of the 4th QRT.

Cmon man, there’s contra flow leaving campus in all directions for up to several hours after the game starts. His only real option is to leave the game early.

If you don’t leave the game early, then he’ll have to walk down darlymple for several miles or walk down highland thru the ghetto towards downtown for several miles.

There’s no good place on campus or close to campus to meet to be picked up. This sounds like a disaster waiting to happen

my suggestion is to buy the shuttle pass from pastimes. ride the shuttle to the game and back from the game. shuttle parks near mike the tigers cage on the north side. have the car service pick you up at past times under the bridge. quickest way out
