Not in year 1 with that schedule and such massive roster turnover

Some folks are treating Kiffin as the next coming of Saban. I guarantee there will be fickle fans calling for his head the first time he has a 2+ loss season.

How cone anyone predict.
We don 't have a coach? Yet?

We have no clue who will be the QB .
Don't even know who will be on the team.

I agree and this is what I said in another thread

quote:

2026 - average 30 PPG on offense and 8-4 floor

2027 - average 30 PPG on offense and 9-3 floor

2028 - PLAYOFFS or BUST

Do not lower expectations. It’s competing for/winning NC or bust. With the portal and LSU’s talent/access to talent… not being in the top 12 is a disaster. Get back to power and manning up on D… you don’t need “schemes”. You need to get back to mauling/manhandling people… not kelly’s infantile/pedestrian pop gun approach…

Depends on so much with roster. Need the right hires that can evaluate the roster that’s already there and keep the recruiting class already there. Not to mention they have to be able to coach their particular position with some degree of competence.
Right now and the most immediate priority is a QB. Plenty of holes to fill and depth to build at certain positions, especially the OL.
I mean, I think considering the schedule, if all the right moves are made, I think the floor would be 2 losses.

I’m not a sunshine pumper or a negatiger, so I have to hold off until I can get a good idea of what the roster will look like

CFP easily. Imagine what Lane can do with a 6' 7" TE across the middle. His OL will be stacked!!

Got to see what the roster looks like first

If he gets the top qb in the portal and a true wr1 playoffs next year is not out of the question

9-3 maybe. I’d be ecstatic at 10-2.

They have to rebuild basically everything. Temper your expectations until he gets his team and system in place.

8+ wins should be considered a success. Anything less is forgivable (in year 1), anything more is a wild success.

This was the worse LSU team I’ve seen in 25 years minus the COVID year. I think we’re in a full rebuild.

I’m happy with 9-3 in year one. Give him time to rebuild this program.

Depends on how well LK works the Portal.

My best guess is 9-3. Anything more than that would shock me regardless of how much of our billionaires money we spend.

9-3 would be a good rebuild for year 1.

We’ll have a good prediction by March, after the Portal/NIL shuffle. Better than the last four for sure.

Albeit the rest of the SEC will hate us, and any motivation is an edge.

It depends on the roster situation and who we lose due to the portal and graduation etc

I am a big fan of the hire, but regardless of who leaves/stays, considering our reported NIL budget and Kiffin’s recent portal success, this HAS to be a net positive for us.

And honestly, it would be a rather large failure on Kiffin’s part if it isnt.

Realistically, 10-2 and no worse than 9-3 and in the hunt for a playoff spot thru the last week of the season. 8-4 will be a disaster without extreme circumstances (losing starting QB early, massive run of injuries, Landry executive order allowing him to call plays)

Core on defense is set up nicely depending on who leaves/comes.

Offense is going to be a total rebuild, but that’s a helluva offensive staff so I’m not too worried. 9-10 wins and looking like a competent football team and I’m happy.
