What makes Kiffin a great HC in these days and times are many fold.Lane's accesment of taken is top teer.His ability to relate to all,these,portal,NIL players is spot on.
Lanes' aggressive approach on offense is a must in these wide open offenses.
***I believe Kiffin learned his lesson in Kentucky on that 4th and 1.....never again !

He's BK #2.
If BK had brought his entire ND staff and a few key players, the outcome would have been different. Same with Lane. He did not bring Golding, Chambliss, Lacy, Echols or Simmons and a few others.
None of the 60 guys he added to the roster are superstars, even though some were hyped.
Biggest ? on the UK game is why did we have 7 players covering 5 WRs and no one covering Minchey. I'm not a coach, but I can count. Did Baker design this or did someone miss the call? I'm not sure you are supposed to leave a vertical lane you could drive a Hummer through. Minchey basically walked in. This was a call that counted and we blew it. It smells like coaching to me or Sloan is a genius. He knew Blake would dial this up.

He’s the coach that likes to take unpredictable chances in a game. Like going for it on 4th and 1 to finish a game with a W. Well, maybe not. In all fairness after that punt, KY QB looked like Joe Montana hitting wide open receivers with no timeouts left moving down the field at ease.

The same thing things required to build a winning program still apply.
You can’t buy a winning culture or team chemistry. Those things take 2 or 3 years to build. It doesn’t matter how much additional money you keep throwing at it. It still takes time to build.
Curt Cignetti’s 2024 Indianapolis team wouldn’t have sniffed the playoffs if they played an SEC schedule. His 2025 team was for real obvious, but even winning a championship in Year 2 is pretty rare.
Cut Kiffin some slack and give him some time.

13-13 against SEC opponents in his career, and he makes 10 million per year. Some stats are just well, unbelievable.

LSU will have 2 losses for a combined 9 points on the road to what will be 2 ranked teams. Granted we could have won both and should have beat KY but it's not like we are being blown out or losing to Ark. Our goals are still within reach. Let it play out.

This is a dumb thread. BK had a better resume than just about any non-NC winning coaches out there. And he’d won two NCs at Div II fwiw.
