Watch the breakdown. There were a few RPOs that Sam pulled to throw when he definitely should have handed off. Would’ve been big gains and in 2 of them he doesn’t even throw and gets suck or gets barely back to the line

I would thrink timing is a decent part of it, which could definitely improve throughout the year. Footwork and mechanics can definitely be improved. Not saying he’s gonna become Joe burrow by then end of the year but I could definitely see him get comfortable and make the plays he should’ve made last night.

I’m not out on Sam. But there were multiple plays where he missed a wide open receiver with no pressure. Because his mechanics aren’t great. Hope he figures it out bc if/when he does he’s gonna be unstoppable

Problem is it took too long to make them. Can’t let yourself get down 17 points before you try something different on defense.
Obviously the soft zone and playing 12 yards off the receivers wasn’t working after the score was 10-0 but we continued to do it especially on 3rd down.

Was arguing with an ole miss fan about this last night, said he was waiting for the bama job to be available.
My rebuttal was if he’s as narcissistic as yall say he is why would he want to live in the shadow of saban. Why go to a job that’s if anything a slight slight upgrade but have to live in the shadow of Saban instead of forging his own dynasty.

To be fair none of our qbs can pick our defense apart like chambliss, it’s not a bad gameplan against a running qb but chambliss isn’t really a running qb. He’s a great pocket passer who happens to be a good runner
