thanks for typing all that up, but I think its way too early to be worrying about the playoffs. We have the hardest schedule remaining of anyone in the country (again)

Im enjoying seeing the improvement in this team whit to week.

What is the point of the SECCG now with a 12 team playoff any way? SEC needs to get rid of it.

In that Scenario LSU would only have 1 conference loss.

Tenn plays Ga

Mizzou is horrible and will be done after this week

OM plays Ga, and already has 2 conference losses

That isn’t true unfortunately. We saw that happen just last year in a 4 team playoff. Georgia had only one loss, to Bama in the SECCG and they got left out
Lucky for us it’s not a 4 team playoff

If Georgia can miss a 4 team playoff after going 12-1 (and undefeated regular season), LSU can miss a 12 team playoff going 10-3. It's definitely a possibility.

look either we make the SECCG with 1 loss or they can have it

why?

because if we make that with 2 losses and lose there we are out the playoffs.

if we get 2 losses we want to slip in the playoffs like bama has done in the past without playing in the SECCG.

This would be easiest path to the playoffs. Sit at home and watch two teams beat the hell out of each other in the SEC championship game. Basically get a bye week. The only problem is that LSU has the USC loss that's getting uglier by the week. With two pretty losses they make it in this scenario.

At this point I say to hell with it, just win the rest of the games. Kill em all and let the paramedics sort em out.

1 conference loss they will get in. Ole Miss needs to win out as well. Probably would be a 10-12th seed.

That wasn't a 12 team playoff.the rules are different now. I don't think a team would get penalized for losing the conference championship, but no one REALLY knows.
Probably only if you were sitting at a 10-11 ranking going into the SEC title game. If you go 11-1 in the SEC, then you’re most likely a top 6 team going into the SEC title game. Unless you get absolutely destroyed in Atlanta, a loss isn’t dropping you out of the 12 team field.

Going into the title game at 10-2 could go either way. Loss knocks you out when you otherwise would have been in. Or if you’re 10-2 and ranked 10-11, you might need to be in the title game and win it to avoid getting leapfrogged by a team ranked behind you that pulled off an upset in their CCG and earned an auto qualifier, while the team they beat was ranked high enough to still be ahead of you after their CCG loss.

A 10-2 SEC team is making the playoff (except Mizzou and Ole Miss due to SOS)

Loser of the SECCG won’t be left out unless it’s a 3-loss team. Probably all three would get in.

big difference between needing to be top 4 vs top 12 (or top 11 if G5 team is outside the top 12).

last year there was only 2 spots for 4 teams.
Washington and Michigan were both getting in as unbeatens (with their starting QB still intact)

so that leaves UGA, Bama, Texas, FSU for the remaining 2 spots.

FSU was left out because they had no QB
Texas gets ranked Higher than Bama because they beat them head to head
Bama gets ranked higher because they beat UGA head to head.
