I’ll never forgot watching that Clemson game and thinking man the “real tigers” LSU is going to be unstoppable this year. Players swarming to the ball on defense and our offense scoring at will. What happened to that intensity and why has it been missing the last 5 games? I know Clemson is having a rough year but it seems like the team has spiraled downward since that game.

We look fast because Clemson was slow.

No Weeks, no Green hasn’t helped.

No Weeks, Green, and Spears. You lose 3 top 10 arguable top 7 players right there. Losing Dashawn Spears is actually very under appreciated

Injuries, better competition, and a growing sense of vulnerability -- we're not who we thought we were.

Clemson was terribly overrated.

This team is still trying. Key injuries plus the expectation that everything would gell right off the bat were probably unrealistic.

Clemson was a lot wesker than thought. We weren't as good as it made us look

We probably beat OM with Green

We definitely beat Kentucky with Green or Weeks.

Our injuries suck a lot, both 7’s are the leaders of the team

Offense-
1) teams have gotten a look at what Lane's doing here
2) lost Green, who was to be perhaps the primary receiving target
3) Leavitt's leg; while he can still run in a pinch, he's not 100% there. That's one of the reasons you see Clark inserted for run-specific spots.
4) teams have figured out the holes in the O Line and are attacking those spots more consistently

Defense-
1) lost Weeks
2) fear of loss of contain (Weeks?) leading to softer coverage and less pressure
3) seems like Baker can't balance the defense; he's either heavy pressure (leaving some gaping holes if they don't get a sack) or soft zone, with the secondary 10 yds off the ball. There doesn't seem to be a good "base" defense that we can run that seems to both limit the run and pass, and contains mobile QBs (or backs that break through the line).

I'm not going to say the refs are screwing us, but there's definitely an uptick in penalties on our side vs conference opponents.

Going forward- I can still see us being able to score on damn near anyone, but the defense is starting to crack

What did we think we were? Most on here knew it would take time to play together...and we have lost 2 close games on the road. Do you always try and have the worst takes on here?

Lsu has won the second most national titles this century only trailing bama. You are clearly young and dumb.

We also have to realize that the staff spent who knows how long preparing for that game. Now game prep is week to week and our opponents have seen what we do.

I see what you mean on defense. That defense in the first game was nasty - haven't seen it since.

And no, it's not because "Clemson is slow".

This soft arse coverage we've been playing makes you want to scream. The coaches and the players want to be aggressive. We have the dudes, so be aggressive!

I’d argue that it is.

Simple. 1. Clemson overrated and sucks. 2. SEC teams are just better and losing Green, Weeks, and Spears. 3. Throw in new coaches and players trying find their way at a new school and a QB coming off a major injury and not playing for an entire year. The FastFood Fans here will not buy any of this but who gives a shite.

Losing Whit was a gut punch. I said it when it happened. A lot of posters on here tried to say Keys was faster and wouldn't see a drop off and I kept trying to say thats an ignorant take. Whit is an NFL caliber linebacker and the heart and soul of the team, his impact is greater than just playing linebacker. Its getting everything lined up and communicated so everyone plays fast and does their job. You saw that translate on several occasions on last Saturday.
