Beloso isn’t doing that much better but he’s a reliable left handed hitter. So he’s not coming out.
This, unfortunately, is the answer. Johnson gets too hung up on lefty-righty matchups on both sides of the equation at times.

Travinski is just a more reliable, consistent version of him

Lol. I’ve been calling him Serrano all season.

He is looking for a live rooster.

He is awaiting someone to bring in a lefty to face Jobert or Beloso.

But it is interesting that he's getting pretty much zero ABs with the power numbers he has.
Not really when you consider the talent on the team. We haven’t seen the last of him this year.

Probably done for the season

Travinski's offensive surge and Jones' poor at bats/slump led to putting him on the bench to insert Travinski's bat into the lineup. Also Jobert and Beloso are seeing the ball and hitting better than Jones so wasn't going to take either of the two of them out of the lineup either.

Was striking out way too much, we just have too many good hitters to watch a guy strikeout 2-3 times a game.
He struck out 7 times in the MSU series while getting no hits

No, he leads to SEC in Ks, meanwhile others have gotten hot, while he just struck out again.

Most of his success came vs lower competition, he doesn’t release the barrel at all

He was 3rd on the team in conference play in BA and slugging through the Kentucky series before cooling off. He was 6/13, 2 BB, 1 HR, 7 RBI against A&M. He was 4/8 against Tennessee. He was 4/10, 4 BB, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 5 R against Kentucky. Since then he’s gone 2/13 (1BB), 2/9 (3 BB), 2/9 (3 BB) and 0/8 (2 BB). The BA fell hard, but he still had an over .400 OBP in 2 of the 4 series he played. At the same time Beloso went 3/29 against Alabama, Auburn and Miss St, so I’m not sure why the ABs since have gone to him.

I wish just one time Beloso would bunt it to third base against that shift.

Or just get out in front of it & actually hit the ball into the gaping wide open side of the infield?
