What does Les have to do next season to not be on the hot seat

List in order of importance.
I'll start
1. Beat Bama
2. No more than 2 loses
3. Make a marquee bowl berth
4. Make it to the playoffs
Les needs to do 2 of the 4 to not be on the hot seat in my opinion.

He can win the national championship and ranters will claim these are Sabans players, say he should be fired and the toss dive should be a penalty.

Compete for a championship.

Win the natty.
Anything less and his biggest supporters (me included) will be ready for a change.

Win the Natty is a little much. Making the playoffs is more reasonable.

I think you're right, basically any combination of two of the above and the fan base cools for a bit. Obviously 1 and 4 is what we all want, but I think 1 plus any other number gets it done. A combo of 2 and 3 would be the equivalent of Ole Miss this year, and most fans would probably take that next year.

Just got to be careful you do not go the route of Texas and Nebraska.

1) learn not to be so predictable in play calls.
2) teach players penalties like playing withou a helmet won't be tolerated.
3) show some class
4) find a passing game at any cost.

Looking at the schedule?
Minimum 11-1 and a New Years Six Bowl.
While the losses to Bama are bad, the real problem is the record vs Ole Miss and Arkansas.
The only teams Games that are reasonable to lose are at Florida (if A QB emerges) and vs Bama.

Win the SECW minimum, if we can't and have multiple losses with the same issues we have had for years itll be over for him

To NOT be on the HOT SEAT
(as opposed to not be fired at the end of the season)
He should be off the hot seat for at least a couple years if LSU makes the playoffs.
He should be fired at the end of the season if:
the offense isn't any more modern, effective, and if coaching of the offense with bad execution and QB play continues and special teams is still a disaster along with the stupid sky kick
and
we get blown out by bama again
and
we lose more than 3 games
and
we end up in another crummy bowl game.
if all of those things occur he should be fired at the end of the season.
