Pulomary should be fired on this alone. He's a lazy motherfricker that doesn't recruit which has put LSU in bad roster management for the 4th straight year. He's acting fat and lazy while being paid a millionaire salary. Unacceptable. Retire or get the frick out. That simple.

I remember back in to 70's, Hank Stram was doing the Saints games on CBS. He was very critical, it was pretty obvious he was auditioning for John Mecom. Guess who the next Saints coach was, Hank Stram. When I listen to Ben do an LSU game, if he isn't auditioning for Scott Woodward, he is damn close.

I doubt Ben said anything negative about LSU baseball publicly he’s generally a positive person. Hank Stram had won a Super Bowl and had been to others before the Saints hired him. While Ben has a great baseball mind his coaching history is basically assistant high school softball coach. That would be a pretty big jump and probably more headache than it’s worth when he already has a pretty good gig. I could be wrong though.

You can listen to it on page 1 or you can read my synopsis. Yes, he was negative.

Is this true? I have a hard time imagining him saying something like this publicly

I don’t, Ben McDonald is one of the most honest guys out there. And when he says things like this, he brings relevant reasoning.

L. O. L. Kristian Garic is a joke. He’s nothing more than a fanboy who got a job at a radio station and now he thinks he’s Scott Van Pelt. He’s an idiot. And he hates LSU.

I listened to him just savage Jeremy Hill for 30+ minutes as a loser, criminal, shouldn’t be on the team. In the next segment he interviewed Johnny Manziel and just about fully throated him. I swear he was hard to understand with Manziels member down his throat. After that he can GFH.

I heard him on WWL today. He talked about how we were getting passed up by other teams in the SEC but he was diplomatic about it and was careful not to be too critical of Mainieri. He did not call for a change.

Hill nor Mettenberger should have been. However, as Miles' true colors are coming out, maybe it is no surprise.

the backend of the lineup is the big trouble. That has to get better.

Or it has to get managed better. There are guys showing they produce better than the guys in the lineup. Coaching.

How Ryan Clark of him

Very dissimilar. Sophomoric comparison. Ryan Clark consistently criticizes white people for racist reasons. He is a well known race baiter. There is not a hint of racism im Ben’s alleged comments.

Agreed. He wasn't being all loud mouth and ranting. He basically just laid out a few facts.

and was careful not to be too critical of Mainieri.

The facts that he laid out were pretty damning on Paul's part. Ben gave statistics, compared it to at least 3 other SEC teams that have been in Omaha more consistently than Paul in the last 10, and more specifically 5 years, and said he is concerned about the arc of the program.

quote:

He did not call for a change.

Of course he didn't, he said that is the job of the AD, not his. But all of the stats and facts he laid out pointed to a legit question of "why has LSU been passed up by several other SEC programs"?

Sounds like Ben was right on the money. I wonder who would be at the top of his list to replace CPM?

If anyone cares, another LSU baseball alumni was on the radio yesterday and said coaching has not been up to par. No one says Ronnie Rantz is on the same level of Ben McDonald on the national scene, but Rantz has been broadcasting LSU baseball games for 20 years now and is professional enough as a broadcaster to not flat out rip a coach. But his comments on Hanny’s show yesterday were certainly not a vote of confidence. My favorite was Rantz saying, “I was taken aback at the social media reaction to Maineiri in the dugout Sunday. Have people not been paying attention before? Paul has been acting that way in the dugout for 15 years.”

If you have former players starting speak out publicly, you can bet behind the scenes, perhaps in talks with the ultimate decision makers, the wording is much more critical.

I'd like a gif of this dugout reaction. I never got a chance to watch it . I just kept up with the game through the game thread

Well, then, if you're leaving out the most salient point, then you might be correct. They do BOTH have two arms and two legs, after all.
