Team is totally different. Flying around on defense, looking better on offense. It's 2011 all over again and few are giving him credit.

He's done a great job.

Coach O is also great at DEVELOPING defensive linemen.....remember when our defensive linemen couldn't penetrate the middle of the line....? It wasn't that long ago...

For taking over a loaded, talented team and doing what is expected with it.

He's been a good interim coach.

I give him all the credit in the world for that.

He is letting the coaches coach, and the players play. His approach is to get the ball to the playmakers, and let them make plays. He believes in upbeat motivation, and it not afraid to put a knot in someone's arse if they need it. We could not have done any better with an interim HC, and as the season continues to unfold we might have our future HC.

I see the benefits of bringing in a JF, with a caveat of retaining Aranda, but CEO has certainly looked/acted the part of a HC at a perennial top-10 program.

The powers to be have the adv of seeing CEO day in, day out. What he does, what he might need to do better. I'm trusting in them to make the best decision for our program. Roster next year is still loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. Whether it is CEO, or another, we'll compete as Tigers and continue to move forward.

He has let his coaches do their jobs... he has brought an energy level that Miles had lost. The team seems to enjoy playing since O has taken over. Les just failed bigtime with the talent in this team the last 4 years....

As far as I am concerned Coach O has aced his audition. He has breathed life and passion into this team. There is a night and day difference in the team's attitude and demeanor since Coach O took over. All we need is a a top notch OC and we are set.

I think you misunderstand.

I give him all the credit in the world for being a good INTERIM coach.

Why do we need a new OC? Ensminger has turned this season around. We are 4-1 with Ensminger as our OC. Unlike Orgeron, Ensminger actually played at LSU and is undeniably one of us!!!

Sorry you lost me at this one. Before O toke over no one knew what Ensminger even did on the team. I give him credit he has taken les's playbook and tweaked a few things that make it functional. Going forward though this offense needs to use the talent at wr's , rb's and te's and this playbook is not gonna take us much better than say 8 or 9 wins. We got the QB coming in to run a wide open offense lets get some one that can bring us up to speed with the rest of college football.

He gets credit for motivating the team, having them ready to play, cutting down on practice time, knowing the areas to focus on, and being an all around good coach. I haven't heard anyone say otherwise and neither have you.

This sums it up pretty well. It's an odd situation, because he has looked very shrewd in his program decisions so far, and the preparation and motivation for the games, especially this last week, has been a HUGE improvement.

The issue is the sample size is still small and the quality of opponents is all over the damn place. This looked like murderer's row a few weeks ago, but Ole Miss and Arkansas are just beat to hell. Then you have Alabama, who isn't just good or great, but is just unfreaking real on defense. I would love to see the man get a shot to go up against a good team playing their best ball, and see what he can do as the head man in such a game. Frankly, I don't think this happens, as UF is even worse off then OM and the Hogs now. However, they are playing for the East title, and having to turn around and play an SEC road game in just 5 days will be a big challenge, no matter who the other team is.

We can't hold the competition against O. He has to coach them as they come, and the SEC is just a mess this year. However, with Auburn slipping up, he has us poised to be the solid #2 team in the league. That can't be overlooked after the way this season started.

I had complaints during the Bama game, but they were things that a good coach could learn from and handle differently the next time around. The way the team bounced back really impressed me. They went on the road and took it to the opponent.

If O finishes the job, I still don't think he is automatically handed the keys, but he will have earned his place at the table, and will be worthy of real consideration.

Nobody against O is saying the team doesn't play well, we're saying there are many better options than Coach O. Just because we're doing well now that he has the right pieces in place doesn't mean he'll be able to replace those pieces properly once they're gone. And since he doesn't specialize in one side of the ball he's not really adding much himself other than recruiting and pep talks. Apparently that's worth 1m more than what Dave Aranda should make to some of you people.

That's comparing apples to apples there. How big of a talent gap is there between LSU and Miss. State? And didn't they still score more points than LSU?

Just shows that all aspects of coaching (recruiting included) are needed for sustained success.

For immediately firing Cam Cameron.

For Stabilizing and rejuvenating a struggling and down football team.

For keeping a top 5 recruiting class intact and maintaining focus on the recruiting season.

For keeping this staff focused and on task after the wheels could have easily come off.

For tweaking the offense to give LSU some type of passing game.

I am not a Jimbo fan and I think Tom Herman is as overrated as any coach I have ever seen. Herman will be destroyed by Louisville this week for his 3rd loss (Navy and a blowout to SMU were the other 2) this season.

We could keep Orgeron for a 3 year contract at 3 million or so (easily bought out if it doesn't work out) and give substantial raises to the staff.

Let's see what happens over the next 2 games and go from there but Orgeron definitely is in my top choices at this point. Why shouldn't he be?

What is Coach O bringing to the table that any of the other HC options couldn't do better?

well for one he turned around a 2-2 team...none of the other candidates have done what HE has done this year...just name one that took over a team playing poorly and lit a fire under their arse.

Correct, none of our HC candidates have taken over for another coach that got fired and then beat teams without a pulse on defense with a top 5 team. Since Mizzou, the teams we have played have had some of the worst defenses in the country other than Alabama and we laid a big goose egg on them.
