I have Verizon and could not send texts all day and night from campus.

From what I understand, temp cell towers could be added on game day to handle the surge.

Do other schools have this issue? Is it just a Verizon issue?

The cell service on campus on Gamedays, especially inside the stadium, is embarrassingly bad. Phones simply do not have any service. As a season ticket holder, I constantly include the lack of reliable cell service as something they need to improve. Cell service is not this bad in any other stadium I have visited. It is inexcusable and needs to be improved. Either bring in more cell service trucks (like they do at Mardi Gras and other big crowd events) or add free wifi inside the stadium. Either way, figure it out LSU.

Verizon was fine for me before and after, but not during the game in the stadium.

We were on or near campus all weekend.

I should have put this in my "musings" thread. Usually I can do okay on campus, but not in the stadium. This has been with Verizon and now TMobile. Last night was awful. No service at all during tailgating. Funny enough, my phone finally had service midway through the fourth when enough people had left.

My Verizon phone was showing SOS on and off from probably 2-4:30… it seemed to work better around 430 when I was around the Mathernes across from the stadium. I not basically zero service inside the stadium during the game

I find that turning off wifi helps sometimes at least when it comes to stuff like sending texts.

Wifi in stadium.

I was at Arkansas last month and I could send texts because they had stadium wifi.

I was also able to check Bama Tennessee score and Texas Georgia score .

Honestly, I can't think of a stadium/campus/sporting event I've gone to that has been worse for me as far as service.

I have AT&T and ALWAYS have problems using my phone on campus, and especially in the stadium.

Went to the USC game, zero problems using my phone during the game.

AT&T is just as bad. It’s funny how easy it is to browse the internet or send texts during the action on the field. As soon as there is a lull or stoppage of play it’s impossible to do anything. Too many requests, and the cellular companies/LSU DGAF

Well TD locks up during TV commercials when the Tigers are on, haha

Can we talk about why one of the biggest complaints on Tiger Rant is:
It's just a social event and everybody just on IG/TikTok/Snap or hell on TD just glued to their phone, YET nobody here ever has any service? I'm sure it's nothing, but isn't that weird? What is going on? Is it just the individual phone or some strange mass cognitive dissonance? Tyfys

I feel like a stadium wifi is the solution. Went to a game in Knoxville in 2022 and the service was terrible. Went this year and they had stadium wifi and it worked great.

My regular texts went through (some delayed a little bit) but you can forget abt sending a pic.

We are devoting our time and resources to importing fake Tigers, we can’t be worried about fans having contact with one another

Taking it off low power mode definitely allowed more resources to tap into 5G then it worked, and I have Verizon

yep, hopefully this is in the works for Tiger Stadium...

I need to be able to kick people off the site during games...

Not sure what they did at Kyle Field but for years it was awful once the game started. Now... no issues at all. Wifi can now handle around 100,000 at Kyle Field.

No sir, not just Verizon. I have AT&T, and can't receive or send pics when I'm in stadium, and rarely can send or receive text messages...
