One thing I think we all will agree on. Les is close to the end either he will get pushed out or retire. We are likely watching LSU's future head coach in one of these bowl games this year. Just wonder who it is?

Here read this:
LINK
quote:
Chip Kelly again on why he wasn't interested in the Florida job: "I don't think our pro offense would work at the college level."
That was Dec 4, 2014
Is that recent enough for you? If he ever goes back to college he will have to eat a lot of crow which means he probably completely flamed out in the NFL

Agreed
I think he will retire here, don't realistically see him being fired.
Now retiring can mean "les thanks for your time, here are the keys to the Executive washroom and your TAF office"

Yeah, because no recently successful coach, like maybe the one at Alabama, has had to do just that...
If anyone is trolling now, it is you, sir...

Chip's show cause penalty just expired on Xmas. I wouldn't hate it but I think every year an NFL job came up he would be a threat to leave, just like Harbaugh will be. Barring a 3 or 4 win season next year I don't think Chip is going anywhere. He doesn't have nearly the fractured relationship that Harbaugh had with 49ers management.

Les Miles will be on the hot seat if and only if we fall on our faces next year. 7-6 or worse.
Everyone needs to understand that LSU is not firing Les Miles and paying him that tremendous payout. Maybe in December, 2016 IF we have two more poor years, but I am not sure about it even then. The BOS will not allow LSUAD to pay Les more than $5 mil to not coach.

You are confusing an internal issue with a performance issue.
If there are internal issues in Philly with Kelly, then obviously something could happen. But, that didn't seem to be your point.

He's got 2 years to go for sure.
You would think- Les must show improvement next year. He has already lost a large portion of his fan base. Another 8-5 or worse year and 2016 will be his last. Reading up on the Chavis negotiations it appeared Chavis was thinking chances of Les not being here more than two years were pretty high.

I am trolling by directly quoting chip kelly himself?
Kelly has fought speculation that he is just a "college guy" by refuting the speculation directly and outright distancing himself from being a college coach.
So for him to go back to the college game would pretty much mean he was a failure as a pro coach. And he admitted he is a failure as a pro coach. Nothing would indicate that is the case.
So even if he gets fired at Philly, based on what he has done so far (he resurrected THE SANCHIZE!) he would probably be given another NFL job with the quickness.
Figure he has another year with Philly. Maybe the power struggle with Roseman gets to him and he leaves. He goes to another NFL team, say Washington and has two or three seasons there and totally flames out. So we are probably 3-5 years away from your scenario becoming a possibility
For your scenario to work he would have to want to go back to college after one more year and that would mean he is pretty much done with the NFL. Nothing he has said indicates that is a possibility. He has gone out of his way to say the opposite and paint himself as an NFL coach

Oh, stop...you know I'm messing with you.
Many have done that and come back, so...
Again, Nick Saban...
Harbaugh decided not to take another NFL job, so it could also happen with Kelly.
Again, might not go to another NFL team...
So you're saying there's a chance...

I am replying to you but really making the argument against all the pro-kelly rantards that don't seem to understand the guy. He has an enormous ego and he wants to show the world he is one of the best in the business and that means staying at the NFL level where the best are. He is a single guy and football lifer that only cares about football.
Saban didn't like the players and their agents being in control and he treated them like tools and not people. Kelly's players love him. Read the SI piece on Shady McCoy and what he said about how much he loves Kelly.

Have you eaten your crow yet for saying no way Harbaugh would go to Michigan?

I don't know about that man. I've been a pretty optimistic sunshine pumper for a long time and I'm fed up with him personally. I'll go full hater if he does this again next year. Jennings should only be on the field to take a knee.

It won't happen. I don't think miles will be fired next year regardless of record. It would mean hot seat for the next season though, but there is no way he's fired next year going 8-5. In fact doesn't his contract have some kind of wording regarding winning 8 games? I.e if he wins 8 he can't be fired or he's even rewarded?

Winning cures everything though. Without foles going down, they win the NFC East easily.
That is a pretty interesting article though.
