Rummel, I know you are super brilliant so would you mind explaining why you think Chip would be gone if the Eagles have another bad year next year. Otherwise I am not sure your hypothetical is worth the effort.

thanks in advance.

Not a chance. 8-5 will not get him fired. 5-7 will not get him fired. He's got 2 years to go for sure.

Delusional Pumps are delusional if yall really think this. LM is on thin ice because of the way he has allowed the D E C L I N E to progress unabated, combined with the monstrosity of an offense he's responsible for. He's lost the support of too many Season Ticket holders, Alums and Fans. There's no patience or wiggle room any longer. Doesn't matter what a few scattered message board Pumps are "Satisfied" with. The Majority are not interested in any more 8-5's............

One stipulation is they would have to bench Jennings

I like the scenario but I wouldn't be upset if he decided to keep cam Cameron if BeBe wasn't game for this.

What Are Your Thoughts on This Scenario...

Thoughts - pipe dream not going to happen. Miles has another 8-5 year it just prolongs the agony. Miles only gets fired next year if we go 0-fer in the SEC or he does something stupid like Petrino. Unfortunately he has got another 2yrs minimum unless he absolutely screws the pooch next year. Which could happen if he does not hire the right DC, because unfortunately I have no confidence that our offense will not look any different in 2015 as it did in 2014.

The real question is will 7, 8 or 9 win seasons be enough to keep Miles for how many more years?

What I mean is that the grumbling by the LSU decision makers would start. Right now, I think they are willing to give Coach Miles a pass in lieu of all the underclassmen he lost to the NFL over the last few years. Fans have been grumbling for years. They won't be the ones who decide Mile's fate at LSU. It will be the people in position at LSU who are paid to make that decision.

Yes, even if someone like Kelly was available. In spite of everything, Miles does have a pretty good record at LSU (2 SEC championships, 1 natty, 80% winning percentage). His current contract runs through 2019 and has a huge buyout clause. Miles won't be fired after 2015 for just going 8-5. It would take a real dumpster fire of a season, like 6-6 or worse.

His "mojo" died on 1/9/12. And i don't think it will ever be resurrected.

If we do not win at least 9 games (incl the bowls) in either 2015 or 2016, Les MIGHT be canned. But LSU would still owe Les a crapload of money and the LSU admins do not want to pay Les multiplied millions to not coach.

If LSU goes 8-5 in 2015, Les Miles will not be fired. You can book it. But he would definitely be on notice for 2016. I could see him being fired for another mediocre season in 2016, but not in 2015. His buyout is too expensive.

chip Kelly would be my #1 choice, so if LSU could get him next year, I say let miles stay one more season.

I wouldn't go that far but in reality Chip doesn't seem to be on the hot seat right now. And if les is let ho, I think it goes down quickly. Kelly still in the playoff hunt, still think it's a pipe dream Rummy and I'm not all that positive on Kelly. Doesn't seem the best fit

I would love to get chip Kelly at LSU. AD needs to check that out and plan accordingly. He isn't staying in the nfl. This or next year is his last unless his team just kills it.
