What are the realistic bowl options for an LSU team that finishes 9-3?

Another Citrus Bowl adventure? I cannot stand Camping World, but that might be the biggest option, if the invite doesn't go to Mizzou. We will likely have Bama/UGA/Ole Miss/Mizzou ahead of us by their record and national placement unless Ole Miss/Mizzou loses a game in the next two weeks.

ReliaQuest Bowl and Gator Bowl are options as well.

Notre Dame has a solid chance to go 9-3 as well. That would make for some serious TV time if the bigger bowl organization sends the invites out to them.

In 2018 we made a NY6 bowl at 9-3. Probably not much of a shot this year though with the SEC teams ahead of us.

Mizzou has had their best season in while, same with ole miss.
Best guess:
GA - playoff
Bama- NY6 bowl
Mizzou or OM TO Citrus
Other one and LSU both to lot of six bowls
Texas Dallas?
Music city Nashville
Reliquest bowl Tampa Fla
The one in Las Vegas
Liberty bowl
That’s all I can remember off top of my head. My guess is we get reliquest or Texas bowl
ETA Gator bowl is one I forgot

Sugar Bowl is already a CFP site. I don't think they'll play a separate Sugar Bowl game. Orange Bowl will probably go to loser of Bama/UGA if it doesn't go to a Big Ten team, which would likely be loser of Michigan/Ohio State. I can still see Penn State sneaking out a NY6 invite though.

Yeesh.

Looking at that list makes it stand out how bad our tie ins are now with the peach and cotton to the playoff.

Going to be 9-3 with losses only to top 10 teams and around number 13 in the country and headed to the Texas bowl.

Many of the bowl projections have us going to Tampa for the ReliaQuest Bowl. The Saints play the Bucs there the day before which is even more incentive for them to select us.

If we can get the matchup with ND I don’t care if it’s in the KMart Alexandria Bowl.

Kelly will be so motivated to beat them he’ll beg JD/MN/BTJ to play.

Orange Bowl could end up being an excellent "non playoff" game with loser of Bama/UGA and loser of Michigan/Ohio St.

LSU vs USC in a bowl game would be cool. Potentially see Caleb Williams (he will probably pussy out and sit out the game though) vs Jayden Daniels and would be cool to setup the first game next season. Also absolutely no defense is always interesting.

I don't see us finishing top 11 which means the NY6 bowls are out. Even if we did, I don't see them putting 5 SEC teams in because that means every NY6 bowl except a playoff game would have an SEC team. I also don't see us in the Citrus bowl because we went last year and started there this year.

The SEC sees the Reliquest, Gator, Music City, Liberty, Duke's Mayo, and Texas bowl as "equal." The SEC (as far as I know) is the only conference that gets to place teams in a bowl game instead of the bowl committee picking the team. I think the SEC waits to see who the Gator and Reliquest bowl pick as the opponent and put us up against whichever one is a better story line. An article I read yesterday said, the Reliquest, Gator, and Texas bowls all want us but the SEC has final say.

We aren’t going to Vegas since we will start next year in Vegas.

We did that last year with Orlando and almost no lsu fans made the second trip.

Likely Texas bowl or Tampa

I think our options will be good. We will be the highest ranked 9 win team and definitely the toughest draw. We might get bumped up.
