For me, it was the game at Arizona on Sep 6, 2003...final score: LSU 59-AZ13. That was the game that I knew for sure that something magical was going to happen that 2003 season. Despite storming the field with the other fans late in 2002 after the team beat Auburn to win the SEC West (Saban's first Division title), I never felt like LSU dominated teams until the following year, 2003.

That 2003 game vs AZ was at night in Tucson and some of the prognistications were that it might be a close game. LSU pulled out to a 52-0 lead early in the fourth quarter...so it was very dominating win (against a non rent-a-win team), to start LSU's first National Title Season under Saban.

Do you rescind your statement about that touch & go game?

I said it was touch and go for a while. It was touch and go for a while unless you deny the score was 14-0 to Arkansas at one point (you obviously don't deny that) or was 24-17 to start the fourth. But they turned it on as you said and dominated from that point on.

Won't get as much love but the '03 game at Arizona was an ABSOLUTE beat down and the game where you were like man, we might be special this year.
Downside was that I believe it aired on TBS with Brian Bosworth

1. 2019 #4 OU 63-28
2. 2007 #9 VT 48-7
3. 2005 #9 Miami 40-3
4. 2006 #11 Notre Dame 41-14
5. 2019 NR A&M 50-7

After reading all responses and thinking hard about it, I think this is the list for me. Coolest thing is that I was in attendance for all of these games except #1.

There are a lot of other really good options (2018 UGA, 2011 Ole Miss, 2011 Oregon, etc) but these 5 feel like the most dominant LSU has ever looked against a highly ranked opponent. A&M was not ranked, but was 7-4 coming into the game and 3 of their losses were to top 10 teams. Plus it was revenge for 74-72 the year before.

In 2003 we beat Arizona so badly 59-13 ( all 13 in garbage time) that it looked like two completely different levels of football. Arizona guys were leaving on stretchers. That’s one under the radar game that comes to mind.

Add these 2 games to your list:

2007: Virginia Tech: 48-7

2011: Oregon: 40-27

Those, to me, are the major non-bowl wins that we really show off in. Those were statement games.

I wouldn't count Alabama in 2019, as that was less than a 7 pt win... it was a GOOD win, but not a steamrolling.

which is why I mentioned "non-bowl" wins.

One thing Miles did, is LSU generally destroyed good teams in bowl games.
2005 vs Miami 40-3 win
2006 vs Notre Dame 41-14
2007 vs Ohio State (championship) 38-24
2008 vs Georgia Tech (Peach) 38-3

That's 4 straight bowls where we opened a can of whup-arse on teams, in games often expected to be competitive. I think Miami and Ga Tech were actually favored. That's the stretch where LSU went from a respectable program, to a feared one.

Citrus Bowl vs Purdue 63-7.

It was like playing a high school team in a semi-decent bowl game. The coach’s son, an 8th string walk-on safety housed a 90+ yard pick 6.

The most lopsided bowl game in history before Georgia whipped up on what was left of the Seminoles.

Screw Bama..........and their commentators.

We whipped Bama in 2019.......sure they were kept in the game but we kicked their arse.

I especially loved the talking points after the game that if the game had last a few minutes more Bama would have won. They totally ignore the fact that other than the opening drive Bama never had the ball with the opportunity to take the lead.

It was a great game, but I can't call it a dominant win. We won by 5.

We outscored them 33-13 in the first half. It was 19-13 with 30 seconds to go in the half, then Helaire scored a TD, then they threw a pick on the first play, then we scored another TD on 1 play. You take away that flurry and the half had been fairly close, even accounting for Tua just dropping the ball while wide open and driving on the opening possession, and then the next possession snapping the ball over the punter's head.

They outscored us 28-13 in the second half. They scored TDs on their last 4 possessions, with drives going 95, 78, 75, and 85 yds. If you say you weren't nervous when they tried the onside kick with under 2 minutes, after getting an 85 yd TD in 1 play to get within 5, then you're either a moron or a liar

A DOMINANT game is one where we beat the hell out of the other guys on both sides of the ball, all game long. Va Tech, Oregon, Fla State back in 83, where we were supposed to be in dogfights but smoked them.

There were a lot of other big blowouts, but I can't think of many against ranked teams that were supposed to hang with us, until you look at the bowls.

‘05 Miami 40-3. We took out our starters in the 4th, and a sophomore named Jacob Hester started running all over them. Seeing us dominate Miami like that was impressive. That Miami team had 5 1st rounders on it.

That is the only real answer. Also my son’s first game. He was 8 months old.
