Florida beat us. They won two games because they didnt make the mental errors that we made. That isn't what this post is about.

This is about the fact that all year long college teams are built around 3 weekend starters and when we got to the CWS finals we were not only deprived of a matchup between 2 first rounders but also the entire weekend rotation matchups in general. Hess was fatigued. Lange and Faedo couldn't pitch, Poche was on short rest, Gilbert was out. With such a small roster and scholarship limit it really seems messed up the way they determine a champion.

I know we lost straight up. They proved to be the better and deeper team. But there's no arguing that it wouldn't have been best for the sport as a whole to put it's best product on the mound when the entire nation was watching. Instead guys named Reynolds and Dyson were starting. Embarrassing

I agree to an extent but this is a marathon, not a sprint

Pitching was good for both teams. Lack of hitting and defensive miscues is why we lost. Time off doesnt effect that as much as pitching.

In a championship series you want to see the best of what each team has. Not some reliever whose started less then 3 games. It's crazy that we didn't get to see Lange or Faedo pitch in the championship series.

Then they should've won 3-0 in their bracket.

Honestly I think Gilbert could've pitched a gem against Fla if Walker hadn't gotten hurt.

Not at all a knock on Walker btw, just saying how HUGE that injury was.

Congrats to the Gaytors though, as it's been said many times before they took advantage of mistakes more than us.

Don't most sports usually have a week or two between semi finals and championship games? I don't think that's asking for too much with baseball.

Ok, how would you change it?

And don't say moving the championship series to the weekend... fans aren't staying in Omaha for 2 weeks.

I agree. This isn't about LSU losing either. It would be better for the sport if you wait until Friday to start the series. The fact that Faedo and Lange didn't pitch in the CWS finals is a joke.

Yeah sure if LSU wins tonight Lange throws tomorrow, but Faedo wasn't seeing the mound again regardless. Kind of stupid.

You can't have a two week tournament in a neutral site if the goal is attract fans.

You could easily squeeze in 3 games a day in the early stages just like they do in regional play. After that have a 2 day rest before the championship series starts.

They don't even do this in the regionals now unless it's weather related.

I'd rather 3 games a day instead of joke pitching matchups. It would only be in the early stages too just to get the 1st two eliminations done faster. Then it would transition to two games a day.

If Lsu and UF doesn't lose then we do see it. It's built to make it tough out of losers bracket. I get that we want to see best vs best. But thr best 8 all have an ace that can go out and beat anyone on a given day. The very best teams can win with their 3rd and 4th starters

Definitely should have been a Friday, Saturday, Sunday best 2 of 3.

Ludicrous and asinine to play a Finals Series on Mon, Tues and Wed and only one day of rest.

Give the teams some time to get rested and fans the opportunity to travel to the location.

Take all scheduling complaints to ESPN. They determine when the games are played.

Naw, we saw it in Gainesville in March. They won 2/3 then, too. Go to more regular-season games/series, if that's what you want to see.

Most of the fans I know that made the trip drove up there over the weekend for the championship series. I don't think most fans stay for the full CWS now. A weekend series would give them a few extra days to plan the trip and it's not like the players are in school right now anyway.

Besides the other day people on here were trying to say that they only care about TV viewers and not actual attendance anymore. I promise you more MLB fans would've tuned in if Lange and Faedo were facing each other
