Wetzel: SEC says Landry is actually running the show.

Link is below but not even worth a click to read. Just more dishonesty from SEC administrators and planted stories given to their cronies to do their bidding.
Basically just accuses Landry of running the show with Rousse or Verge having no power.
"Who is in charge there and how do you ever trust them?" said one SEC administrator.
My favorite is this line:
"A rule barring former professional athletes from the league initially passed 16-0 last month and later 15-0, when LSU abstained. The Tigers however later seemed eager to violate it, albeit with the excuse that they were just following a local court order."
Yeah, that legal court order that we were told to follow by a judge?? Just an excuse according to these people.
God they are the worst.

Man, when Landry called that zone blitz and Ross turned into a pick six, that was something.

We know this is just a lie that the SEC was disseminating through the media.
Once Rousse's letter to Sankey was released, this talking point was pretty much squashed.

The educational elitist at the other SEC institutions do not like that LSU is beholden to the Louisiana tax payers

How does Landry run two jobs like this? Dude is putting in work.

Like Landry is actually fooling around with LSU Athletics every day.
Our AD and President are new. The SEC Presidents need to relax. The AD and President will come to your tea parties soon enough.

Why are they so concerned about who’s running LSU?

Until someone puts their fricking name on something, I'm considering all these quotes to be fabricated.

They're concerned that we're getting aligned.

Jeff Landry is doing a great job then. Our team looks great and the program is aligned.

So, what if it's true? He is the Governor and, like it or not, he does have the authority to be "involved."

Is this transforming into a democrat vs republican fight? Geez.

I'm not a fan of Landy's. But I will always give credit where credit is due. He is the biggest reason Kiffin and Wade are here. Not because Landry is a big LSU football and basketball fan. But because he is a politician who wants to give the people what they want...even if for his own self interest.
From an LSU fans perspective why I should I give even the remotests of shits if people at another SEC school, or even the SEC itself doesn't like it? The schools are your direct competition! I don't seem to recall other SEC schools, nor the SEC itself crying crocodile tears while LSU was the worst basketball program in the league for 4 years and was in a steady state of unfulfilled expectations in football during that same period.
The media, SEC administrators, other SEC ADs/coaches, fans, etc can stand on all of the principled BS they want. ALL that matters are wins and losses. I could be wrong, but it didn't sound like there were very many people wearing purple and gold in that stadium Saturday night who were "disgusted" by the arse kicking LSU administered, or that it was the Governor who pushed to bring in the HC that led it.

“seemed eager to violate it”……. so now we can penalize teams if we believe they were eager to do something but they actually didn’t?

I am so over this shite.

THIS! damn near ever accusation lobbed toward the Bayou is grounded in this mushmouth bullshite - weakly framed in what appears to be a legal basis but in actuality is nothing but a bunch of 'hurt journaling'.
