During that time, if coach Miles feels that Mallory and Peveto have improved, I would not be at all surprised to see them both re-hired and to see Chavis demoted to second string DC.

I -ed at this.
Seriously?

If Miles did something this monumentally stupid two things would happen, Chavis would quit, and Miles would be fired/forced to resign.

Well, I'll give you two words to sum up the season: Danny McCray. He was CONSTANTLY lined up man-to-man on the opposing teams #1 receiver (Percy Harvin anyone?). This should have NEVER happened! Why did those dumbasses do this all season when everyone knew McCray was not that type of player? Don't give me the same crap that fans do not know.... Those bastards obviously did not know and the players knew it. If your own players do not trust you, then you are done. Miles did the right thing by letting them go.

Were the Tigers too hasty in dismissing them for Chavis?

You should have saved yourself some time and stopped right here.

Why did coach Miles just assume that they would not improve?
Because it does not matter if they will or not, just like with Jarrett Lee, we have seen enough.

Not just no but HELL NO! That was one of the most putrid defenses since the Tepper years yet with tons more talent...co-DC's just led to confusion that just led to chaos and reading and listening to players interviews that was the problem and Miles addressed the problem appropriately and got a DAMM STRONG proven DC with Chevis...

In case any of you haven't figuered it out yet, this is this a-hole's lame and weak attempt to knock on JL using Malveto instead of JL.

Unfortunaltly for him, is that he's either got a false sense of what is and what is not considered funny or just plain fuking stupid. Probably little bit of both.

Regardelss what LMiles, Gary Crowton, Ciron Black and hell even JJ himself says, you're still gonna have people like this jerkoff that feels need to take stabs at JL.
I honestly believe it makes him feel better about his pathetic life.

Either way.... this guy is a fuking

If you believe that everyone is entitiled to the opportunity to redeem themselves, that's
admirable.
You hire them.

So many things to respond to: First LSU football is not in business for people to redeem themselves for screwing up. Second, yes they could do better, but the earth could open up and swallow up all our opponents too, which is about as likely.

These guys weren't really great at their individual jobs and when you take two guys and make them co anythings, you tend to multiply their failings, not their positives. The decision to have Co-coaches was not too smart. Replacing them after the performance last year was basically a no brainer. The error was in putting that situation in place, not in fixing it.

The argument of this thread is clearly not up to par.

How many pages do I have to read before someone realizes it's an analogy for #12 Jarrett Lee.

ETA: Page 2.

They had a chance to redeem themselves every week thru last fall and they only got worse.

only in the sense that Earl Lane didn't catch his share of grief. That tippy-toe ,Three Mississippi pass rush just didn't really cut it in SEC football. Oh,and its also within the rules to have your linemen raise their hands when they rush, too.
