If McMahon's actually who the McMen say he is, this should be no problem. If he doesn't, axe him. We could've easily done 20 this year but we left too many games on the table because we don't take care of the ball, miss too many free throws, and can't rim protect. #BootUp

Success will be making the ncaa tournament. Regular season wins are part of getting there. If he doesn’t enhance the roster over the next few weeks, it will be more of the same or regression

I agree. Bare minimum is a 20 win season. Worry about tournament or whatever, but that’s not gonna come without winning in the regular season. We need to take care of that first.

There isn’t really a number. It’s the competitive ability of the team. I’ll say 20 is close though. That’s going to be about the threshold for tournament teams.

It isn’t about 20 wins. It’s about making the big dance. Has to beef up the nonconference schedule.

We had a beefed up OOC schedule and got skull dragged. It tanked our NET ranking. We need a winnable OOC schedule against quality teams. (Before someone mentions Nicholls, Miss St lost to Southern and is still dancing)
9-9 is good enough to go dancing but not if you go into SEC play at 8-5. Take last years OOC record at 11-1 and combine it with 9-9 SEC and we're dancing. It's a possibility.

Exactly. LSU should be making the NCAA Tournament almost every year. There's no valid excuse for the program not to reach this level of minimum expectations.

I think he needs to be top 1/3 of the SEC which should equate to 20-plus wins. More important is making the NCAA tournament. That would show real progress.
To achieve that he will need to get some portal help to replace some of his lost production from this season. It looks like we may have a true point coming in from HS and possibly a more physical post player, but they are HS kids so how they translate to college is never assured. And that is only two players hence the need for good portal pickups.

He's already a failure. I won't be watching men's basketball again next year. Hopefully, I will be able to get excited again in 2026.
