Taking my LSU hat off for this one. He missed so many calls for Skenes, Riley, and Hurd but Georgia can throw a 12-6 curveball in the dirt or at the head for a strike. He started giving us some calls back in the end but SOB man. That last strike out Crews had wasn't close to being strike.

I’m still pissed off at that call Cooper got. There’s no way that pitch missed. It wasn’t even on the edge. It caught a big chunk of the plate.

We can Monday morning quarterback all day long about CJJ decisions last night. But CJJ best decision last night was sticking with Hurd.

After about 10 pitches Hurd started to settle in and get into a rhythm. Then in the bottom of the 9th he got rocked and UGA tied it up. At this time CJJ could have panicked and pulled Hurd. His best decision was sticking with him. After that Hurd struggled a little, got out of a small jam then settled in for the victory.

I'm just really happy it worked out. That performance by Hurd has to have his confidence level much higher. It really helps from a mental perspective.

Yeah, that was bull shite. Homeplate umps will not make it easy for our bullpen.

You could read Coops lips after the call “are you fricking serious”

Something needs to be done on the umping it has gotten worse over the course of the season like never before…

The ADs and coaches are going to need to address this with SEC office after the season cause it’s so bad I’m waiting for a player to snap in one of these games and I would not blame them…

Batter and pitches can not find a rhythm when the umps are so damn inconsistent…

All the pitches last night would get a called strike, throw the same damn pitch in the exact location and it would be a ball and this has been going on all season but last night hit a new level…

I think its been this attrocious all year long. There has not been a single SEC game that I have watched where I didn't yell "where did that miss?" at my TV multiple times.

Definitely a tighter zone across the league this year.

Same. It’s not just our games. It’s all across the conference. So many of the umps are just ridiculously inconsistent/incompetent

After the season the league is supposed to be reviewing the games and judging the umps on their strike zones. Supposedly this is the reason for the tighter strike zones. We will see if anything comes from this.

Don't think LSU will have SEC umps for a regional or super

this. the higher level of anything you reach...the more mental it becomes. Hurd has electric stuff. just needed to gain some confidence.

a new third starter does not mess with the pen if Hurd can extend his innings. this entire team becomes a MUCH tougher out in Super Regionals. in Omaha, if you stay in the winners bracket, you can get by with 2 true starters. and if Floyd has a rough outing....Hurd can now come in and be a positive.

Even though he got pulled and was ultimately a walk I loved seeing Cooper stare down the umpire. He fricked us all game. Also showed Cooper wanted it bad. Need that attitude from our bullpen.

Agreed. That was what the team needed. Maybe Hurd turns a corner and is a piece we need for a run.

Pitching in those tough situations only makes you better. Our Pitching Staff learning to pitch through hard times is the best thing we can do right now in my opinion.

Those Umpires work for multiple Conferences. There's no guarantees that we'll escape at least a couple of these clowns.

There were 2 back to back strikes at the bottom of the zone last night on Crews that absolutely pissed me off. Because even though the umpire called it a strike it was not in the zone. But pitchers have been getting squeezed all year in the SEC. The fact that only 94% of balls in the strike zone are being called strikes is terrible.
