We need to just cut all ties w/ TM7

1. It makes Les Miles and staff look bad if they take him back. You make a major decision like that you need to stick by it.
2. TM7 already had 3+ chances. If he hasn't changed now what makes you think he'll change now? He screwed up now he has to live with the consequences.
3. Nobody is above the rules. I don't care if you're the Honey Badger or a walk-on that barely made the team. We shouldn't do for one person what we wouldn't do for another. Rules are there for a reason. Obviously he felt like he was above the law so I don't feel bad for him.

Dude if he is on the straight and narrow for a year? why not?

definitely needed a new thread.
How would it put him above the rules? The rules say it would be a 1 year suspension

It doesn't make anyone look bad if he gets his life together, returns to have success (maturity and personal life success as well as athletic) and represents LSU with class. It only makes Miles look bad if he returns and screws up again.

Yes, because the only way to be a good disciplinarian and leader is to only punish and send into exile. Sometimes the best leadership is letting someone have a chance to earn your trust back and feel how rewarding that path is.

No, you are not! Mathieu had his chances and blew them up in smoke. No one person is bigger than the program. At Penn St. one person, Paterno, got bigger than the program and even the university. Cut ties, head on down the road! We will survive and thrive!

It isn't above the rules for him to sit out a year. Penalty for this infaction had it even been as bad as harder drugs is no participation in games for a year and no use of training facilities for a year or less.
This option was probably already presented to him and he probably wasn't willing to accept it. Now he has hit rock bottom and realizes all what he has thrown away. Now he has come to grips with what he has done and might have come back with hat in hand.
Repeat. No bending of rules to make this happen.

I'm with you. Gotta cut the cancer. If he wasn't ready to change his behavior, considering he was a Heisman favorite this year, with a BCSNC on the line, why in heavens name would anyone think a year is going to change him? Let him go, plug in another stud that isn't a self centered ego case, and go about the business of winning it all. We don't need him.

How does suspending your star player for a year because he broke a rule make les look bad?

Rules are there for a reason....I guess so. Obviously the pot didn't hurt his play, so I'm not sure what this purpose this rule serves. I think the nature of the rule is important. And he can be punished in other ways.

Find another comparison, please. This one sucks.

I am just wondering what was going through his little pea brain. He was busted three times for drugs previously and he still thought blazing was a good idea the fourth time? Kid just can't handle the spotlight. Doesn't have the "chest" for it.
He gone.
He gone.

I am with you. No chance in hell he plays another down for LSU.
