Has anybody confirmed that it was only his 3rd? I'm thinking it was his 4th but the 3rd got swept under the rug.

The decision had nothing to do with the wild card of next season.

It was 2 chances.

He was and is punished. So you make no sense. Go smoke some weed, it might make YOU smarter.

I'm with you. Gotta cut the cancer. If he wasn't ready to change his behavior, considering he was a Heisman favorite this year, with a BCSNC on the line, why in heavens name would anyone think a year is going to change him? Let him go, plug in another stud that isn't a self centered ego case, and go about the business of winning it all. We don't need him.

Agreed. How many chances should he get? Geesh.

Les said that this was permanent. Backing off of that would make him look bad.

Dude if he is on the straight and narrow for a year? why not?

I come down on this side. We'll apparently find out Wednesday what he will do but if he stays in school, flies straight, keeps himself in shape, why not? Just bypassing 1st string playing time at a smaller school and staying here says a lot to me.

Were you asking the same question with RP after the Varsity incident?

And you have to remember. He was supposed to be a "leader". He has already had the opportunity to experience the success, the lights, the attention. Not like he's some wide eyed Freshman. And after it all, he chose to say, frick it, I want to do this and I'm gonna do it.

You know, if he got reinstated, and did the same shite again, these same people would come on and say "one more chance". Why, because he was a great football player. That's all that matters.

Sorry nothing to see here time to move on.
Staff did everything it could to keep TM7 on team. Unfortunately TM7 was unable to control his addiction to weed. Staff realized he would not comply and left them with no choice but to take punitive action. You don't kick off this kind of talent if you think there is any other way out. there wasn't and it's a done deal. I don't like it but shite happens.

I guarantee this'll happen and they'll say "Oh it was just a little weed." Try to say that in court the judge will laugh at you and give you 30 days in jail and 3 years of probation.

I want TM7 back but I trust Miles with the team and whatever decision he makes I will support in this situation because the truth of it is, we don't know all the facts or the whole story.

So there is no reason to be critical if Miles if he allows him to return assuming he's redeemed himself.

One Alabama fan's opinion:

TM7 did not get kicked off because he did something awful. He does not seem like a bad dude, or a cancer to LSU's team, or anything like that. The violation he committed was not an unforgivable one. He is stubborn for not staying pot-free, but a one year suspension is punishment enough for him for the said offense, and I think he definitely should be able to return next year if he does not get into any trouble.

I won't be critical of CLM but the rest of nation will be. Like I said if you make a major ruling like that stick by it.

Everyone is human, we learn from challenges, who here has not crossed a line even when you knew better?

Wisdom is gained through adversity and hardship. Maybe a year off is the hardship that teaches the life lesson to Tyrann.

Why not give him an opportunity to play football for LSU again, if you indeed care for someone why would you not help them learn and grow? I think to "cut all ties" is equivalent to abandoning someone, why would you do this? Would you remove Mathieu from all LSU record books and highlight films?

I say let him have a shot after a year; this course of action is good for everyone.
