No. I don't think that will stop. We have to step up our efforts a little and we will be fine. You're nuts if u think lsu is going to somehow just become an also-ran due to lack of funding.

For basketball girls and a really hot blonde chick. But they can't play DB.

I would submit the intention of NIL was exactly what the women are doing AND for video games and jerseys, NOT buying players.

I think a significant majority of the posters (including myself), have no clue how much money is being tossed at these guys. It isn’t public info. For the most part people see results and project their feelings into the situation as factual.

That's exactly right. They act as if they know whos $ and what amount is being spent and how wisely. They have no frickin clue. If you mess up and overspend on a recruit (especially a big $ one) you could lose out on numerous others as a result.

I say activate operation southern honeypot. There’s only one way to beat a Michigan chick recruiting the second richest man in the world.

I’m not sure if we could afford to match.

I truly have no idea how much money LSU can spend. But I know it’s less than UT, Aggie, Ohio St, Oregon, and Bama.

We have far less than Georgia Texas Texas AM. Just depends on how they spend it or if they spend. We need to recruit the Rap artists

It's such a loser mentality. Schools of VAULTED past LSU this year. South Carolina should have kicked our arse and are doing way better than we are.

I don't understand your obsession and constant revisionism concerning South Carolina.

They nearly lost to Old Dominion, choked vs us, choked vs Bama, and got destroyed by Ole Miss at home.

They beat A&M at home and average Clemson. Whoop de do.

LSU HAS to start tampering like other teams.

They already are, it's laughable that fans think their school isn't already cheating.

Also not sure what tampering has to do with recruiting high school kids.

Only on the Rant would an AD who hired NC winning coaches in WBB and baseball in only 3 years be viewed as a failure.

I enjoy watching baseball as much as the next, but College Football is the lifeline and backbone of Baton Rouge. Not 12k people that show up to Alex box and pay 80$ for a hotdog just to find out the baseball team still wasn't in the green.

Michigan is going to have to make Underwood play as a freshman in order to get a real return off their investment.

I disagree. In fact, the longer he goes without having to play, the more ROI on their investment they receive.

Literally a money issue with top recruits and will continue to be one

There's a freaking Amazon show about NILSU.

That doesn’t mean we are rich. It just means we are with the times as far as promoting the athlete and a personal brand, which is sort of the ACTUAL purpose of NIL. That’s not what Underwood and his handlers wanted. They wanted cash.

Louisiana only has one flagship P2 school. Texas has 2 flagship universities and several other P4 state schools with rich alumni. 1 of those billionaires is from Houston and bankrolls them. I’m sure a few went to SMU, TCU and Baylor, as well. Probably Rice, too. And I would wager many of them don’t contribute a dime to athletics wherever they went to school. We all know Texas has more wealth, but let’s not act like 79 billionaires are bankrolling UT and A&M.

Putting that aside, now is the time to focus the bulk of our resources on the state of Louisiana. I know we can’t live on that alone, but it’s going to be a lot more difficult to hold onto any top 100 recruits from out of state unless they have some pretty strong ties to LSU outside of that. It’s always going to be a battle, but it’s a little easier to hold onto the home state kids that we prioritize. We’re fortunate to be in a state that produces so much talent, so focus on that.

BK and Frank have definitely prioritized rebuilding our recruiting here in LA and had a lot of success with that last year and this year. They just may have lean even harder into it for HS recruiting. Then look for diamonds in the rough out of state who won’t be collecting huge paydays but the staff feels have the potential to really develop. Then use the portal to bring in more highly-rated players from out of state.

MOST, don't matter. It is the 6 or 7 schools that will dominate College Football that does matter. They have much more money, and it is showing. If Texas A&M ever gets a competent coaching staff, they will be there too. The traditional SEC Schools, including Bama, will be headed south in College Football if drastic changes are made. Texas and A&M will be probably the only 2 that can compete in terms of $$.

Doesn’t matter how much money we have if you are not willing to go out and pay these guys what you need to in order for them to come here. Also after seeing this recruiting cycle I’m not sure we are as great with NIL as people think we are.
