We have just as much available if not more in NIL money than MOST other schools.

Salary cap or not - we just haven't gotten a GM yet to catch on to budgeting, etc etc.
Even then, LSU is top 10 in the country still in recruiting next year. It simply can't be a money issue. That's absurd.
It's such a loser mentality. Schools of VAULTED past LSU this year. South Carolina should have kicked our arse and are doing way better than we are. Schools that spent 13- 20 mil on NIL are losing and still suck.
UGA is not spending more than anyone in the country yet they are rocking top class after class.
I apologize in advance, but this is something that the people in charge of aquiring talent for LSU, will have to catch on to. There's a freaking Amazon show about NILSU.
LSU has been leading the way with NIL.
LSU's football program specifically, has been imploding. Their results on the field this year did not represent the talent already on the roster. Get a grip. We need the right guy in charge. That is all.. and hopefully that is Kelly, but right now -- this is on him. He's gotta push himself to change and adapt or build a staff of people that know the game.
LSU HAS to start tampering like other teams. It'll be interesting. I hope we get a good class out of tthe portal, but im telling you, its not like a free market where you just bring your pocket book and try to write the biggest check for free agents. This is the same ole recruiting combined with NIL that happens all year around. These guys that are flipping and hitting the portal have been talking to other coaches throughout the year.
Bottom line, just like paying for players in the past, recruiting other players, legal or not is a must - during the season, at other schools. Poop or get off the pot, quit making excuses.
If any of our boosters trhought we had a go getter, killer that was gonna get it done, they'd anti up more money, but right now - it's a crap shoot.

It quite simply IS about money. Underwood and Phillips both wanted to come here but were offered more money elsewhere.

I don’t know about Phillips, but Underwood gave us a chance to match and we simply opted not to. It’s too much for a kid who’s never played a down of college football. That money can go further with other players. CBK was right about using it to be aggressive in the portal.
Michigan is going to have to make Underwood play as a freshman in order to get a real return off their investment.

You can always tell the people that donate zero money to NIL.

That doesn't mean we don't have the money. It means his home school and state university happened to give him more money...we offered him enough that it took them coming in at the final second to pay him more and steal him from us. It won't happen like that most of the time.

We aren't competing with "most schools". We are competing with Oregon and Texas and Ohio State and Michigan and they all have more money than we do
Live in reality.

Schools need GM’s
And
Not a lame dick athletic director, who thinks everything he touches turns to gold..

We are in the top 3 percent of football. If somehow we can’t afford these players, than nobody can

We will find out if that strategy pays off. We missed in the portal last year.

Texas, Oregon, Michigan, etc can all afford them and we will continue to lose out on the best of the best talent

I don't know if anyone has a clue how we compare NIL-wise.
Got guys saying we are top 5, then one rich computer guy from LA is banging some Ann Arbor girl and boom.....we drop down to #6.
Who the hell knows.

If we didn’t have the money we wouldn’t be in these conversations to begin with.
I think there’s obviously a level where Kelly or whoever makes the calls thinks the ask is too large. Underwood for example we didn’t match. Maybe the same thing happened with Phillips, I don’t know. It’s also entirely possible the money was equal for Phillips and he just actually liked Texas more.
The simple facts are nobody knows where our NIL stacks up, but it seems obvious to me we’re at least competitive on that front.
We’ll have to see if the strategy to not match some of these guys is the right one down the road.

Played our hand too early...gotta hold on till signing day and throw deals at these kids. We ve allowed every school with money to come in and take one recruit they want.

Face it we do not have the alumni who have stupid money and are willing to shell it out for kids who may or may not make it
Look at our own Jamarcus-
Johnny Football
Just two kids who had the world of talent and the future in front of them-- NIL is going to ruin College football if they do not put a cap on it.
Cap it per player then the kids get to choose the school they really want to play for and then its up to the university to sell itself
Until they rein NIL in the whole NCAA is going to be a disaster

You should do a fantasy football draft where you bid on players - not a snake draft.
If you had, you'd know cost are never spread evenly. Some dumbass will go all in on one player. Once he does that, the next dumbass will go hard on their player. With a large enough league, before you know it, all the big names are gone.
But here's the deal... if you are smart with your bidding, you'll be able to get a ton of the next tier players and you'll win the league.
This is where LSU is at right now. Let Michigan over pay for Underwood and blow their wad. Same with Texas and a few more. Then go after all the rest and cash in.

So you think teams are going to just stop coming in and offering LSUs best recruits ridiculous money to go elsewhere? LMAO

Lsu is well within the top 10 in nil. We have the potential to do better than that once the realization of real championship contention comes into play. People need to quit acting like we are poor and realize it all has to do with bk and his idea of how to build a roster. We have a huge fanbase that cares deeply about football and it's success. We aren't going anywhere and will compete for titles soon.
