We need a good, strong OL.
Our pass protection has to be better.
Much better.

I have been around long enough to know that anything can happen in sports, but I don't think anyone beats Bama without having a QB who can extend plays and who is a threat to run.

At this point, I haven't seen such a player on the LSU current rooster.

There's nothing worse on this board than MFers speaking in absolutes. I get having a negative opinion about someone (look at my post in this thread), but that sort of shite is infuriating.

You don't know what's going to happen in the future. You don't know how any of this is going to turn out

Exactly. Check out his post from Dec 12th regarding the OC search:

Not sure if the O line will be good enough ?? When you linemen are getting tossed aside like rag dolls hard to run or to protect.

We need to stack both of our lines with 4 and 5* and we'll be alright. Nothing to it!

Unless we get a descent offense line we will not beat many good teams.

Tigers will have bigger problems than just beating Bama next season. They lose a ton of starters and Contributors.

Auburn and Florida will be better next season. Bama will be better on offense.

We play at Tennessee late in the season.

Still no proven qb. Thin RB depth.zero experience returning at WR outside of see Anderson who had about 8 or 10 targets all season.

We need to beat every team in the West. Can we beat BAMA next year? We could. BAMA has a streak against us. but all streaks come to an end. what yall think?

Brennan is the QB of the future, but this year should be a RS year for him to add some bulk and learn the offense

The Oline would get Brennan killed with their current level of pass protection

I think LSU/Bama will always be a low scoring defensive struggle. If you are the team with lesser talent you have one way to win.

Get lucky.

We will need to win the turnover battle and hopefully make a big play off a turnover (pick 6, etc).

If they protect the ball they win. Talent and coaching wins almost every game and they have an advantage in both.

The Barn lived off their defense this year. Even with Stidham at QB, it won't matter. They are losing a lot of talent on D, and Steele will be exposed, just like he was last night. UF is in the same boat. They have not recruited well enough to offset their losses. Once their defense starts to slip, they will fall off.

UT was up and down and average as hell, and they are losing the heart of their team. They are going to fall of the fricking cliff next year.

You severely overestimate the competition. Ole Miss and State will be improved, but how much? Both had pretty rough seasons and glaring holes. Who knows about A&M or Arkansas. I would be worried if we had to play UGA, because their recruiting is really taking off under Smart. LSU is in good position to be second in the West next year, with a puncher's chance at Bama.

The other night I watched a condensed version of their 2014 CFP matchup with Ohio State. Cardale Jones was amazing in that game. Constantly making things happened. Also the shite Herman was throwing at them was awesome.

I think Bama's going to be much worse next year. They are losing a ton of experience and talent on defense and losing Cam at LT. While Hurts has been ok running, he's been below average as a passer with some good and some bad throws, but no way he's winning games with his arm. Switching OCs is tough even if they have someone like Sark in waiting. The offense was built for Kiffin's style. Sark isn't Kiffin. They WILL experience growing pains.

LSU will be better next year with experience and an improved D-line which is scary. LBs will be good with D White replacing KB and Divinity replacing Duke. They lack experience, but both are as athletic. The young DBs looked much better with the time to prepare for the bowl game against a heisman QB. I wish we could have someone like Tre White returning, but corner surprisingly may be the weakest part of LSU's defense which with the athletes and our coaches should improve quickly as the season goes.

Offense is going to be better with a legit OC and more experience and chemistry in the passing game with a full year under DE's belt. Offensive line is the only question, but if Malone stays we will have two bookends with him and Weathersby and with Teheuma, Dodd and Clapp in the middle. The offensive line should be good.

LSU will be scary good next year barring injury. I think the key is the health of Derrius Guice (ETA) and the line.

Did anyone watch Freeze's comments on beating Bama? I'll summarize:

You need a mobile QB

Stretch the D with deep passes down the field - challenge the DBs.

You have to keep the safeties out of the box by making them cover.

That is all I recall from his brief answer on how Ole Miss had beat them twice, then scored over 40 this year in the loss.
