You're literally an idiot if you believe we only had 35 players on scholarship.

Just my opinion, there should be a cap put on NIL money all teams have the same amount each year. The payouts are getting more and more ridiculous. But I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

The intent is for it to become too expensive for schools to pay for. The networks and corporate will partner with teams to help pay NIL and take full control of the programs and the sport. It’s always been the plan behind NIL

Sure, but you also don’t have yearly mass turnover to the transfer portal either

Saban won the SEC in his second year.
Yes, he did.

He also inherited a ton of talent from DiNardo. Kelly inherited a dumpster fire.

The SEC was not as competitive in 2001 as it is now. Not even close. The SEC did not have a team in the national championship game from 1999 until 2003, and then did not have one in 2004 or 2005.

But let's not forget that Kelly made it to the SEC Championship Game in his FIRST year.

And how did Kelly get to the SECCG in his first year? He beat Saban.

Kelly was handed the keys to the Ferrari and just had to put new tires on it and keep it between the lines.

Huh?!?!?….we had less than 40 scholarship players when he took over. He had to rebuild the roster and the staff. Now if you want to say he had the portal and Saban didn’t that is valid. But to say Kelly started with a Ferrari where Saban had a Ford Focus is a little disengenuous.

All that said I still don’t think Kelly is the one….but not because he started with a national title contending team from a talent perspective.

Lol have seen our upperclassmen? Have any upperclassmen on defense outside of Swinson, a transfer, show anything worthwhile? Just because players aren’t leaving doesn’t mean you shouldn’t continue to use the transfer portal. I don’t get why BK just ignored the portal this offseason. Imagine if we got 2 safeties, a 2nd good def end, another defensive tackle that weighs more than 280 pounds, and a decent center? The best schools combine the portal with high school recruiting.

This is where your dishonesty shows, if Saban inherited a “ton of talent” then so did Kelly yet you act as if there’s this gigantic gap there when that’s false, so yes it’s factually untrue.

Keys to a Ferrari? Lol. You must have smoked some good stuff to forget that there was only 39 scholarship players when Kelly arrived. LSU played a WR as QB in the bowl game against Kansas State.

Kelly has had to do a massive rebuild. He defeated Bama in year one against Saban that no one thought would happen.

Now comparing 2002 to now is ridiculous. Colllege football and especially the SEC were different. The SEC was not as dominant it is now. Spurrier was king of SEC. Each successful year Saban had, the question would be which NFL team was coming after him.

What the frick is this shite?

Saban inherited a ton of talent. Kelly inherited a dumpster fire.

These are well-accepted facts. You seem to be the only person who does not know these facts.

Why are you bullshitting about this?

This team has shown up two different times coming off a bye week completely unprepared to play. Against A&M they were unprepared for the running QB. They had no plan for him whatsoever. I don't care who you compare him too, that's unacceptable especially for a coach making nearly $10M per year.
