Jennings/Harris vs Dak.

Pretty epic season for MSU until they faced Bama and ended up closing out the season with an L to Ole Miss.

I hope I never see a QB room like that at LSU again

I never thought LSU would go back to the Trent Johnson days in basketball and yet here we are. However I also hope to god you're right about the QB room.

That game ended on of the SEC's longest winning streaks in history. LSU had only lost to Miss. State once in 30 years prior and that 1999 was a complete and utter frick job by the refs who rewarded State a 4th and Goal TD on a play late in the 4th quarter where he was well over a 1/2 yard short of the goalline in a 17-16 Bulldogs "win."

My buddy and I went to that game. No matter how much we got down by I kept thinking we were ok since it was just Mississippi state. Didn’t know at the time it wasn’t your typical state team. We left in the 2nd half when it got ugly and missed the almost come back. Got absolutely trashed at earls after, mid 20s were a wild time

The same buddy and I went to state the next year to see the revenge on Dak, had a great time

Was that the one where Harris came off the bench late and almost pulled off the comeback?

Yeah, State pulled a bunch of starters and went to prevent D late. At one point the backup center airmailed a snap over Dak which led to one of the scores.

I think LSU scored 2 times in the last 5 minutes, and Harris threw into the EZ on the last play of the game for what would have been the 3rd TD

Must be a long trip, because there are SEVERAL games that I would watch highlights of before that one.

Lol I was sitting in the north end zone for that game. Dak was fricking incredible. As horrible as it was as an LSU fan that was probably one of the top performances individually I’ve seen live in tiger stadium.

I remember Harris almost brought us back and I was excited about him starting for us the rest of the season and then he gets absolutely crushed by auburn in his first start.

The QB play at LSU wasn't good (of course, it was damn near impossible for anyone to be a good QB in Miles's terrible offense post 2008). However, the defense early that season was just as bad. If not worse. The 2012 and 2013 recruiting classes were "down" relative to LSU's standards, and 2014 was the year it came to roost.

Give LSU credit though. After getting thumped in a closer than it really was loss to MSU, and absolutely destroyed by Auburn, LSU rallied to win at Florida and A&M, as well as at home vs. a good Ole Miss team. They should have also beaten Alabama. But, yet again, Miles was given a chance to put the nail in the coffin and didn't. Yeldon gives LSU the ball at his own 9 yard line. Les is happy to just settle for a FG...and eventual loss.

There was this little matter of a BS personal foul on Vadal Alexander. We wound up with like 2nd and goal at the 20.

I stayed the entire game and there was probably less than 10k fans left in the stadium in the 4th quarter. My buddy and I literally walked down to the 1st row of the 50 yard line and watched the entire 4th quarter from there. Hopped the fence and hung out with the players after the game.

Is that the game where Miss St. center Day takes the cheap shot and intentionally steps on one of the LSU player’s helmet ? Can’t remember the Game ?

He didn't step, he JUMPED on Davon Godchaux's gut.
No penalty called, yet he was suspended by the league for the next game or two. He committed 2 dirty fouls in that game.

I lived in Mississippi at the time and had MSU friends texting me (I was at the game with my son) telling me Dillon Day should be kicked out of the game. I didn't really know what happened until I watched the replays later.

That was the game I knew my son (12 at the time) was a true LSU Tiger fan. I wanted to leave at some point before the 4th quarter, and my son insisted LSU still had a chance. I'll be damned if Harris and company didn't nearly pull it off.
