Was it smart for A&M to cancel their game? I think so.

If A&M wins, great, as expected. But if they lose, it will look bad on the star studded class they have currently, and may cost them some recruits.
It's a win win for them.
However, if LSU loses this game, albeit with a quite diminished roster, it'll still look bad and will cost us in recruiting. If we cancel the game, it's a win win.
Nothing good comes from this game other than diehard fans getting to see their team play one more time this season.
I think the bigger picture is more important here, but what do I know?!

I believe this mentality is why A&M called off their bowl game, and it’s flat out bullshite.
SEC teams with $120 Million or more budgets jumping through hoops to cancel their bowl games so they “don’t look bad” is utter chicken shite.
Play the game. It’s not going to affect recruiting, especially not with NIL in play.

Everything you said there... is wrong. A lot of these kids are getting playing time, exposure and possibly letting CBK know they have fight.
But to your other point, it sounds like you approve of the aggies forfeiting because it's a meaningless bowl game... right????? Then what's to stop a team from opting out on e they know they're out of the CFP race?
