I like the way they use their recievers who are big and strong (not exceptionally tall). They throw into small windows, but aren't scared of it because those small windows are created by their WRs using those big bodies. They don't rely on timing because, unlike us, those WRs screen defenders out of that window.
I like their OL too. They can move. They don't have the fascination with weight that many have. Their best OT, a rs-SR by the way, is just under 300 lbs. Most of our fanbase would freak over that. As a squad, they have a top-25 OL (we're in the 80's); against our competition in our conference that would likely be in the 40's, which is nothing to sneeze at. They run traps exceptionally well. Part of that is their OLmen's agility, but they scheme it very well too. It's just a solid group that with the exception of their C is experienced.
There's some things with them to be jealous of.
There is no reason to take them for granted. Those two things together are a potent combo and can make any QB look good. We'll have plenty of opportunity to make plays on D, including blitzs; they've never seen anything like what we do.

I've been pulling for them for a long time. I think what they have accomplished is very impressive. When you realize they don't have the top talent in the country and they can still find a way to go undefeated for two seasons, that's an incredible feat!

Now that I've visited their message board, I find them to be like a mix between a ULL and Arkansas fan after shotgunning a few Bang energy drinks. Just absolutely obnoxious with the little brother syndrome.

Claiming the national championship? That's absurd. I could look the other way if it was just some local chatter about it, but they freaking put it up in their stadium.
A complete joke.

I really like and support UCF. My kids went or go there and it's a pretty cool school. BUT I LOVE LSU!!! They suffer from Little Brother Syndrome and they have been screwed by their situation. There is no other school that came out of nothing to compete with the big boys like this except maybe Boise. They are three times the size of Boise and have twice the enrollment of LSU.
They were 10 years too late to the party. They were a joke when the expansion occurred and any expansion that will occur does not make sense, like Big 12 or Big 10 just so they can get into Florida. The can compete with the Big Boys only in Football and baseball. Their basketball and women sports are subpar even for the AAC.

Florida State was an independent and a train wreck of a program in the 70s, but they'd play anybody, anywhere and built up from there.

I've never been a fan, and all of the national championship BS just made it worse. I hope we beat their arse like a red headed stepchild (no offense to any red headed stepchildren was intended or implied in the creation of this post)

They should have made the playoffs this year and last year

Fwiw, southern Illinois at Carbondale held that distinction for Illinois before they opened siu- Edwardsville campus. Was 100,000 for a while there.

Most definitely!

So if UAB went undefeated in horrific Conference USA, should they also get into the playoff?

The committee would have to decide between ucf and uab for that fourth spot.

I followed them while the grandson of one of my best friends played for them. I think they should have played Florida. Then they could gain some respect if they won.

IMHO it is a way to get the attention of the committee to look beyond their biases and agendas.

And I bet you helped Ole Miss design their 2003 SEC West co-champions banner also.

I mean he is right technically though. There are SEC teams doing the same thing with old championships currently. As long as the NCAA refuses to take ownership of it and just name one, this will keep happening occassionally.
