We are not discussing what occurred before they were at lsu. Why not compare him to saban. Won a championship and then took a step back the next season. Amarite?

I have no idea why people in this thread are bringing up what the man did at Arizona. It seems pretty obvious im talking about both coaches' tenures at LSU with LSU athletes and LSU resources
Ok, let's go with that.

Johnson took over a team that was expected to make a regional every year. He's made a regional every year, won a national title, and has followed that by making a regional, and then hosting a regional as a national seed (with the unanimous #1 ranking at the end of the season).

Orgeron took over a team that was expected to make a bowl every year, made bowls leading to winning at national title, and then followed that missing a bowl outright with a 5-5 record, and then finishing 6-6 the following year.

If you want to make a football comparison, if we drop this regional you could say Jay followed his title with about a 9-3 season and loss in the bowl (2024), and this year we would be comparable to being a playoff team (with a bye), in danger of losing their first playoff game.
I'm sorry, but O didn't follow his title nearly as well.

So, I'd say Jay was more successful than Ed both before and after his title. I know that isn't as fun as melting all over the place like this board is doing, but it's the truth.

You are trying to have an intellectual argument with a mouth-breathing motherfricker who can’t spell with spell check.

You are wasting your time on this fool.

I agree that Jay hasn't done as bad as O outside his natty run but losing to this sorry arse Little Rock team with a losing record doesn't seem the same as losing a CFB playoff game to a playoff team

I will concur that it is pretty hard to compare the 2 since the postseasons play out so differently between sports

Look, man. I know you're really pissy because the thread you made just this morning praising the pitching staff (right before they preceded to walk this sorry arse LR team 10 times and get 10 runs dropped on their head) made you look like a dumbass. But no need to take that anger out on my grammur

That dude thinks he’s like the Troll monitor and thinks everyone should think like him and all LSU does is the right thing. But to answer the forum question 1000000% Jay Johnson is Coach O and could not hold Skip Bertmans dick strap

It’s the thing his GF uses on him while wearing a Tony Vitello mask.

Oh, the frick it doesn't

You best believe if we got rolled by Boise (or Liberty, etc) in Tiger Stadium, or after getting a bye (being one of the seeds), people here would be losing their fricking minds. Remember how many people were bitching, saying UGA got an unfair pass by getting the winner of Notre Dame-Indiana... and then they lost.

And just to clarify- this isn't a loss yet in the football analogy. It's more like being tied at the half, when everyone expected to be up 28-3 and coasting.
We win tomorrow, and the only effect today's game has is to keep the team humble and focused.

2022 - bounced in USM regional

He took over a team without a legit SEC starter and still won 40 games with 17 SEC wins. Remarkable really.

2024 - bounced in UNC regional

Had a young team after losing an insane amount of veterans coming off a Championship. Actually a remarkable finish to almost hosting a Super.

2025 - bounced in LSU regional?

Has not happen, so you don't really have much.

Or maybe just maybe he takes LSU to Omaha 2x's in the past 4 years.

The thread was about a comparison to O which makes no sense.

Jay has won everywhere he has been including LSU.

He's winning at LSU.

Not exactly because Jay didn't tank the program following 2023 but it’ll get pretty ugly for him if he loses tomorrow

Stop. O clearly isn’t the HC JJ is. Their coaching tenure before and after their NC proves this is a massive reach. O was 10-25 as ole Miss’ HC and missed a bowl game for the first time in 20+ years the very next season. JJ took Arizona to 2 CWS, and has 2 consecutive post season appearances after the NC. We aren’t even out yet and could be hosting a super next week.

Man the retards really come out when we lose. Anyone who thinks this comparison is remotely close shouldn't be able to reproduce. We don't need more idiots like y'all in this world.

That troll also thinks Matt McMahon is a good basketball coach.

I can't even fathom the retardation of the mind that it takes to think JJ isn't a good coach and McMahon is a good coach.
