The Birmingham, Alabama based sportswriter who began the Kiffin is recruiting "pro players" narrative is publishing a book entitled:
It's as if the media couldn't me more dishonest.

Good. It'll bring attention to him even more so people can mentally validate what they read and they'll realize that it was mostly bullshite and that Lane really is trying to do the right thing.

Talty's CBS Sports article with the "anonymous source" was what the SEC cited as evidence in their federal complaint.

IMO this was a carefully crafted PR campaign by Talty ahead of the release of his book. Gen up a controversy about Kiffin, then release a tell-all book about Kiffin after kicking over the ant's nest.
Doesn't matter if it's mostly true or not - this was a money play for Talty, pure and simple.
