The Birmingham, Alabama based sportswriter who began the Kiffin is recruiting "pro players" narrative is publishing a book entitled:
It's as if the media couldn't me more dishonest.

Good. It'll bring attention to him even more so people can mentally validate what they read and they'll realize that it was mostly bullshite and that Lane really is trying to do the right thing.

Talty's CBS Sports article with the "anonymous source" was what the SEC cited as evidence in their federal complaint.

IMO this was a carefully crafted PR campaign by Talty ahead of the release of his book. Gen up a controversy about Kiffin, then release a tell-all book about Kiffin after kicking over the ant's nest.
Doesn't matter if it's mostly true or not - this was a money play for Talty, pure and simple.

Wouldn't it be something if this whole "Kiffin recruits former pro players back to LSU" fiasco was an unintended consequence of Talty trying to drum up interest in his book?
It's pretty obvious that the SEC was myopic in singling out LSU for the harshest treatment, and the media took the bait and ran. What's the possibility that a BS comment from Talty to gen up interest in his hit piece book actually took the SEC by surprise and Sankey felt the need to swing his tiny pecker against LSU and Kiffin to show them who's the boss (instead of looking like a powerless nobody in the media who'd allow such a thing to happen)?
I hope that some enterprising attorney in LSU and/or for those players is looking into Talty's role in the whole fiasco. The SEC may have fanned the flames into a wildfire, but what if Talty lit the first match that started it all?
And, again, it's JUST MY OPINION from looking at the circumstances around this whole situation. That said, it bears some further investigation, no?

John Talty, he likes his nuts all salty
Media loves Lane as they're looking out for their own personal interest, and that would be writing what get clicks. Everyone is always looking out for their own best interests.
