Source? Citation? Anything? You started off by insulting me and not even acknowledging the specific intent angle at all, so I’m not inclined to trust you just saying so.

They have a witness saying he knew. Did they just make that up? You don’t think his phone is a trove of clear knowledge? He went to high school four months ago with these people

quote:

I don’t even know what you’re trying to argue. The only things you’re saying that directly contradict anything I’ve said are just flat out misstatements of the law. And being a condescending dickhead while being wrong, to boot.

No, you’re just reciting statutes like a 3L without any realistic application to the facts and passing it off as analysis. Any jury in the world finds clear specific intent with the facts as stated in the warrant—if shown to be factual. Only a moron can take those allegations and say “well they can only show that he knew they were on the run and that they asked to stay at his dorm and camp out for two weeks but they can’t prove he specifically intended to help them hide”

That said—Lindsey isn’t going to prison. But he’s not going to play football at LSU. If the facts are even close to true, he’s done for and will plead to something lesser.

What lesser charge could they possibly allow him to plead to?

I looked up "Obstruction of justice". Based on the wording of that statute, I don't see where that would apply. What else could apply based upon the facts of the case, as we've read so far?

Obviously, as a first offender, he'll get probation and it'll never go to trial. I just don't see how he avoids a felony conviction.

Inherent in allowing him to stay there, 100 miles away from the crime, while knowing of the charges against him and why they needed a place to hole up. Particularly when considering there is an informant who says Lindsey knew.

Zero doubt in my mind he knew what these guys did. He’s just out of high school and everyone around his hood knows. Everyone in the hood talks, b/c most of them don’t work. All they do is hang out and talk on the phone all day. Most of the hood knows who killed who before the cops. It’s their culcha not to speak up.

I don’t know what his longer term legal situation will be like but here is the immediate.

He hosted two people wanted for murder toting serious weaponry in his dorm room on the LSU campus. Uh yeah … as a parent of an LSU student posted in this thread, that’s quite concerning.

Even if Kelly and the athletic department went to full defense mode—they won’t—Lindsey is going to be kicked out of school with the boot stuck up his arse for years afterward.

This kid will never play a down for LSU. What a dumbass.

I think so too. His legal situation and what LSU does are two separate issues. I think he will go the way of Trey Holly unfortunately. I don’t think LSU will wait for this to be figured out.

He had multiple firearms in his campus dorm. That alone is a felony count for each one.

R.S. 14:95.6

quote:

§95.6. Firearm-free zone; notice; signs; crime; penalties

            A. A "firearm-free zone" is an area inclusive of any school campus and within one thousand feet of any such school campus, and within a school bus, wherein the possession of firearms is prohibited, except as specifically set forth in Subsection B of this Section and R.S. 14:95.2(C).

R.S. 14:95.2 Section C(8) appears to exempt possession of a gun in your dorm room.

quote:

C. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to:

(8) A student who possesses a firearm in his dormitory room or while going to or from his vehicle or any other person with permission of the administration.

LSU policy and resident life contracts might apply other restrictions (assuming those don't run afoul of the heightened State constitutional gun ownership protections enacted in the last few years), but if the guns are his, legally possessed by him, and in his dorm room, it doesn't appear to violate State law on gun possession and gun free zones based on the language of the statutes, specifically the exemptions carved out above.

I amazed he’s still in school given weapons in dorm

I’m assuming the weapons belonged to the two fugitives. However, I don’t think that should matter, and it should make it worse for Lindsey from the university’s standpoint.

He is charged with being an accessory to a crime that happened in Alexandria, but his actions brought two violent fugitives onto LSU’s campus. They were accused of one murder, wanted for shooting two others, and considered armed and dangerous.

No surprise guns were found when they were arrested. Hiding a couple of guns in your dorm room will get any student kicked out of school. Hiding violent fugitives attached to those guns is much worse, and should get that student arrested, kicked out of school and a lifetime ban from campus.

Why should they care about Lindsey? They allegedly killed another of their classmates. ALLEGEDLY. lol.

People worried about their kids on campus with all those guns. Hell, I live 10 miles off campus, and I'm worried about those thugs.

Hell, they found two AR-15s, a Draco, and a Glock in a college dorm room. If they DON'T add that charge they're doing him a solid.

Pretty sure the LSU student handbook says this is a no-no. I’d be willing to bet the Glock had a Glock switch as well. Bangers gonna bang bang.
