vandy has money for ALL students - thus they can offer it for baseball players that are on partial.

It’s one of this fan bases biggest faults and why they are so miserable. The majority can’t get themselves out of the 90’s when there wasn’t any parody in college baseball.

Programs don’t go on the run that we did in the 90s anymore. 9 different teams have won titles in the last 10 years. For whatever reason our fans refuse to accept that, but if they would it would make for a much more enjoyable experience.

When you have the consensus top talent, top facilities, top fanbase, yea, anything short of the top is a failure.. Much less, mediocrity

Its like Alabama losing in football. Not acceptable. And rightfully so from a fan’s perspective

No they don’t. I sent three daughters to Vandy. One got money, and all it was was about $5,000 per year to match her National Merit Scholarship. The others got nothing. One of them was a varsity athlete.

I don’t know what you’re laughing at. What he said was true. In the 90s the CWS typically had three to five teams that had a chance to win it; the rest were weaklings. Skip used to hold his ace when facing a weakling. You can’t do that any more. Today there are two dozen teams that could win it.

I would imagine it was the way parity was spelled...

Every single student that attends Vanderbilt receives financial aid according to how much is needed. When you fill out your FAFSA form it gives you an EFC or estimated family contribution that is based on your family’s ability to pay. So, say a family makes 100k per year and their EFC is 18k then that student will pay 18k per year to go to Vanderbilt. If a family’s EFC is 8K then that student pays 8K per year. If the family’s EFC is 70k then they pay 70k. Every single student is charged this way. Vanderbilt gets 11.7 scholarships just like every other school, it just may be cheaper to go to Vandy than other schools depending on the parents income. It’s allowed because every student gets it, not just athletes. Any other school could do it if they wanted to.

They can offer academic scholarships on top of the 11.7

Every school in the country can do that.

If I had to guess I would say Vandy's advantages come from need based aid.

Why does the NCAA only allow 11.7? Why not allow all teams to give 20 or 25?

True, but their real advantage is they can give "merit" scholarships based on just about any criteria simply because they are a private institution not a state institution.

And "merit" can be loosely interpreted by Vandy to mean anyone who can throw a baseball 95 mph.

here is where the pm supporters start telling you that lsu really isn't all that great anymore and thus, he has some built in excuses for his cws results

Vandy has a bottomless endowment. I would wager that most of their player's are on some type of academic/financial need grant coupled with a partial athletic scholarship.

This is the correct answer. Guys like Kumar Rocker are not supposed to end up on campus.
