They’re a private school so they can essentially give unlimited scholarships

Someone like Project could probably tell you better, but they do have some sort of advantage over other programs. Something to do with schollys. Maybe they aren’t restricted to just 11.7 or something.

Better recruiter? I can buy that but Corbin has massive advantages with vandys endowment making their 11.7 more like 25 but best coach?

He’s had 16 first round draft picks roll through there and has one title. He’s done less with more than anybody in the sport.

why do you think they have a volunteer assistant buried in the lawn care department. That’s why Schloss, him and his dude that went to Poolane are where they are. Watch Poolane get good again because of this bullshite. He knows how to use that shite and will use it down there.

Vandy cost of attendance is approx 3X that of LSU (and most state schools) as a private school. THey have a large endowment that provides substantial scholarships for a variety of non-athletic reasons.

The coaching staff can use the 11.7 schollys allowed by the NCAA plus use their endowment money to award other academic or need based grants that just happen to go to baseball players. Otherwise, only rich kids could afford to play at Vandy, Tulane, Rice, etc. which would automatically eliminate them from the hope of being competitive. In essence, this allows Vandy to have an almost unlimited number of scholarships to attend a school that cost about $70k/year to attend. But also much more difficult to be admitted into.

Let's not pretend that matters for their athletes. They aren't Stanford.

Winner winner chicken dinner
My godchild recv’d a .6 scholarship from Tulane. His academics (4.0 gpa, Valedictorian, 31 ACT) made up the remainder for tuition money and books. Pretty much a free ride to study biomedical engineering at Tulane.

They can use academic money too being a private school. They do have an advantage even though that’s no excuse for 13-4 beating.

Why is that a private school only advantage. LSU/TAF could fund any number of private scholarship endowments for Baseball if it is allowed.

FWIW, My daughter got an academic scholly offer to Tulane that amounted to about $88K over four yrs. Problem was the cost of attendance for a Tulane 4yr degree was over $250K. I would have paid more in my part of tuition to Tulane than I would paying it all at LSU.

So I dont understand how the private institutions can supplement more scholarship money to cover cost to attend but public schools cant??

Vandy, like every university, has special admissions. Any athlete wanted by their coaches will be admitted, Same deal at Stanford and Duke.
