As soon as Mulkey stops trying to mold her into a younger version of herself, maybe we’ll see some improvement.

If only Kim Mulkey knew what she was doing.

In press conference Kim noted the defense shortcomings and pointed out states guards scored all their points

Should have gone after a true point to fill out the starting 5.

I hesitate to second-guess Mulkey but it's hard to see why Velez hasn't been getting minutes. I get that she's not ready for a major role but it seems like getting her ready would be a bigger priority. Still, I have a great deal of confidence in KM having her team ready come tournament time.

come on man obviously she’s a great coach.
But she had to know what she’s trying to do was going to take the entire season to do, and it still might not work. It’s a project… Let’s revisit this in March and see if HVL is creating her own shot, driving the lane, and spacing out the floor making crisp passes by then.
Id gladly eat crow, but switching her from her natural position was…ambitious. I don’t see the speed or quick processing needed to play pg. but she’s proved already on a big stage she can spot up catch and shoot.

That tends to happen when you play a player at the wrong position and force her to be what she's not. CKM thought it would work and it turns out that it isn't.

She’s one of the worst starters in the SEC.

Come on guys. HVL wants to go to the next level...must be a point guard because of height...she's a work in progress...will get better. I'm always sad to see the Chicken Littles on here. Don't be our worst enemy ... the great civilizations all collapsed from within. (Side Note: USA is doing it now.)

I keep seeing this. There is a reason Flauje is not the point. Its such a dumb take. Just because she can handle the ball does not automatically mean she can play PG. She lacks the instincts to run an offense and get things set up. Shes not a great passer either. She is playing 2 which is perfect for her. If she were at PG she would be taking all the flack HVL is getting. I've seen Kim get asked this question of why Flauje isnt the point guard and her response was a laugh and no. Wouldnt even entertain it. Tells you everthing you need to know.

If ALEXIS MORRIS can't make a team at PG at the next level, then HVL have no damn chance to make that jump as a PG.

HVL is a natural 2 shooting guard. Not quick enough at PG & never really is comfortable running the O & distributing.

Yeah SC was the first game I watched more than a couple of minutes of. Every time down court it took her darn near 10 seconds to get safely past the initial pressure at the top of the key to get us into our offense.

So our offense would basically start with less than 20 seconds to shoot on almost every possession.

Hvl has no shot to make the wnba….she will be back

She is too small, slow, and weak

Needs too much space to get her shot off

If Kim truly wants to maximize HVL they got to scrap the PG project and do what made HVL successful at Louisville. We can't keep this up, in our two SEC losses vs Auburn and Miss St, HVL was 1-6 and 1-9 for 4 and 3 points. Thats atrocious for a transfer ranked #1 in the portal previously averaging nearly 20 PPG. I dont care if she is playing out of position but thats not acceptable.

I'm not qualified to project progression of a women's BB player at PG. I do remember that Van Lith missed weeks worth of games and practices due to that foot inflammation issue. If she can progress to becoming a better PG, those lost weeks certainly didn't help.

Is it her fault we don’t hVe a point guard? Or is it the coaches fault? She does her best. It’s not her best posit

So many coaches, not enough teams.
