i can't understand the thinking that va tech brings anything positive to the table for the sec compared to uva. they would be worse than mizzou in pretty much every way - athletically, academically. and mizzou is being complained about severely.
why are people saying uva is stuck up? they were just voted #1 party school by playboy.
btw, where is this uva talk coming from? i haven't heard one thing about them and the sec. by all accounts, they are being courted by the big10 and unc is being chased by the sec. unc would be incredibly awesome. uva would be a nice addition.

Doesn't really pertain to this thread, but what I would do for a baseball series exchange. Would be excellent and competitive I think...more so than football.
I personally think VPISU would be a better fit with SEC culture but I do believe UVA is the better overall school...both academically and athletically. Sure, they have had a better football history, but VPISUs overall body of work is weak.
Tradition, which is the heart of college football, is much richer at UVA.
I would be elated at the prospect of a UVA invite to the SEC.

Too bad the only way to get that in the regular season would be for UVA to join the SEC as long as we both have the same managers. Would love to go to a series up there with my Step-Dad(he's a big UVA fan). Oddly enough, that's not where I got my hatred for Tech. He never minded though.

I know PM and Oconnor coached together at ND but ive never heard them say they wouldnt play eachother. Where did you hear that

I did too. If we had gotten them, then maybe I would prefer VT, so that rivalry could be renewed. That is a very underrated rivalry with a ton of hate, that goes beyond sports. Mizzou-Kansas is not the only one that dates back to the Civil War.
ETA: that is actually why I want VT in the Big 12.

Too far north. Same as Missouri AND Kentucky. (Which need to be shipped off to the Big 10)
