Yeah, I live near 14th and U right now while I'm finishing grad school. I ran the Army 10 miler a few years ago, which also is a great event, but I am so far away from adequate running shape right now that any current attempt would be suicidal.

I do. Frick em and their backwards fan base. They're a one trick pony and they see the light at the end of the tunnel with Beamer. Don't have anything to hang their hat on except the Vick era, and we all know about his charades and his exempliary sibling. What a joke.

Wow! Somebody sounds like they need a hug

Well, making a little progress here.

Not sure I would consider that a good thing. I have only rooted for VT twice in football. The USC game in 04, and the first BC game in 07.
But yea, it is a hell of a game to start of with. Certainly adds excitement to the off-season. Kind of like our opener against Oregon in '11

Geez, I didn't even take up running until 2007, at age 42. All fat and out of shape an stuff. Couldn't run but a 1/4 mile when I started. Worked up to 10. Back to running 3 miles about 4 times a week now. Great for weight, blood pressure, and it's convenient and cheap, but whenever I hear someone say they love running. I want to punch them in the throat.

That 2007 BC loss was such a bad frekkin beat that I had a BC fan come up to me in DC 2 days later and apologize for winning.

I ran track for a year in High School in Midlothian, but if even tried to run a 5k, I would fall over dead at the moment. Summers down here don't help. Come July, you break into a sweat just thinking of going outside

I don't remember the specifics about the game, just yall lost the first one, and won the rematch.

I hate rematches.

Finally getting nice here, but last few weeks I've run in snow and 20 degree temps. Just started back a month or so ago, so 3 miles is a challenge, and after about a mile my lungs are about to bust and I no longer notice the cold temps. Got that going for me.

I can be nice, just have a hard time keeping my big trap shut when VT gets brought up.
As for snow, I miss that. Haven't seen it in over 4 years since leaving Richmond. Did see sleet a couple years ago one day though.

I love to tell this story. we are up 10-0 with 4:16 in the 4th, and Matt Ryan drives 92 yards and throws a TD pass with 2:11 left in the game. The onside kick bounces off one of our WRs, and BC recovers. With 11 seconds remaining, Ryan throws the winning TD pass. It was a lovely game.

Ouch, that does sound painful. Unfortunately we all have games like that.
Never been a fan of Matty Light. Granted, I wouldn't really care if he wasn't a Falcon.

I'm trying to stay in a good mood today. Even though the baseball game got postponed. I was looking forward to making my first game of the season.
Just waiting for the next expansion thread to bash VT.

I don't want any more additions. In fact I could do without the last two, especially Missouri.

Football does, however, swing in a matter of years. We're on the upswing with recruiting and have taken over a lot of the to VA talent

UVA recruiting class rankings

2011 - 23rd
2012 - 25th
2013 - 29th

Just an FYI, but recruiting is kind of like golf, you want to shoot a low score.

it's funny when people criticize academic prestige.

WE'RE BETTER AT A BARBARIC SPORT AND STUPIDER. SO TAKE THAT NERD

why do people think that unc or uva would always suck at fb if they joined the sec? heck, vandy won a bowl game.

I never said UNC would always suck at football if they joined the SEC.

The average gpa for incoming students for VT for the 2012-2013 year was 4.0. I think that is pretty decent.

To be fair, VA doesn't require as high of a number grade for any of the grades. 64 is a D in VA. 69 is an F in TN. Also, you can have above a 4.0 in VA.
