Be careful what you wish for in getting a young guy for a DC. Just remember we did beat teams with fancy offenses recently including Oregon and TCU. We have lost to Bama Miss St Arky who play smash mouth and whipped us up front. I would rather a young guy on offense who can create plays for all our weapons. One of the problems with the current defense is that it is complicated. It's the main reason Chavis played Welter for so long and not Beckwith.

Our defense under Chavis wasn't complicated at all

Im in the crowd that thinks the Stoops talk is mostly Smoke and Mirrors in an attempt to get some contract extensions and raises. Of course I could be wrong. I seem to remember the same thing happening prior to CC being hired. No?

FTR, I think Chavis was willing to try some new wrinkles more so than others. His Achilles heel was last possessions of the half/game.

Oregon - yep, fancy O
TCU ('13) - not fancy
State - very similar to Tebow at UF. Lots of zone reads; different from Bama (<,14) and Arky

Every DC has some warts. I would like think that if there is some young talent out there he would not be non-considered for that reason.

He got depantsed by malzahn, and he often guessed wrong at the end of games. Seems like his tendencies were a well read book by the OCs of certain schools

I don't want him because I've seen what WVA, Clemson and TAM did to his defense. Keep that loud mouth blow hard away from Baton Rouge.

My issue with OK and the stoops boys is once their gameplan stops working that is pretty much it. They have historically struggled to adjust. Both bob and mike are in that same boat.

We saw it at Arizona, we have seen it repeatedly in OK

I don't understand the Stoops talk, LaTech could hire Stoops as their DC. No one wants him.

So now Shoop "hasn't been contacted" come on dude. You are posting things that are exactly opposite of paid sites and other people in the know. You need to evaluate your sources.

Just curious, if recruiting in the south is truly that big of a deal to Les how is O not involved in this search in some capacity? I honestly believe it's CP and O.

I remember a Moo state game and Less and Ed O met on the field afterwards, there were some ugly expressions and looked like some words there. I hope he gets some kind of job here but I don't think so.

"Stoops will not get the D.C. job !!!!!!!!!!!

What We Know So Far.

1. Les Miles is doing two interviews today with Stoops and C.P.

2. Les Miles is leaning heavily towards C.P.

3. Les Miles has not offered the D.C. job to anyone.
