If by change you mean scoring 35 less points, then yes

How nice of you to take time away from focusing on your 7-5 squad to show an interest in our team.

I think we'll be fine. Maybe worry about how you're gonna deal with powerhouses like Northwestern and Indiana next year.

IS ANYTHING I SAID INACCURATE? Arm TALENT consists of touch. So Burrow didn’t have “arm talent” in your use of the term?

GTHO with that bull shite.

Yeah. You’re an idiot. If you think Nuss doesn’t have touch you’re an idiot. But, everyone here already knows that.

Statistically, there wasn't a QB in the country who had a better deep ball than Jayden this year.

saintlad74Under Nuss, do you think offense will change much

It almost has to.

Not a knock on Nuss but JD can do things with his legs that Nuss can’t (he’ll all but very few can do what JD does)

Also, not a knock on JD, but Nuss has a better arm.

The offense will be altered to suit Nuss’ abilities. If he makes the leap mentally, we will be OK.

Statistically

That didn’t happpen until the 3rd or 4th game this year, his third or 4th full year of starting.

There are two words to describe Nuss:

Arm
Talent

I agree the play calling probably looks a lot more like what we saw in 2019. That team was obviously special in the personnel we had, especially where we could do lots of different things without substituting due to Moss' & CEH's versatilities. Not sure we have that on 2024's roster so it will probably not look exactly the same.

But I think the types of plays will be similar with the ball going vertical regularly as well as intermediate stuff across the middle. Hopefully Nuss can do some RPO here & there like JB did so effectively when needed. Remember, we really didn't have a lot of designed runs for JD this past year, I think it was only in the mid-20s or so for the season. Most of his running yards came on scrambles. So they really don't have to call things a ton differently if they don't want. Maybe Nuss slides in the pocket instead of escaping & finds a check down.

I also hope they have Nuss working on that danged VR simulator hours a day over the summer so he is ready to read defenses & find the open man!

ETA: we also will have some stud RBs & a nasty OL, so we could see more ground & pound & play action as well.

He doesn't have the escapability of Daniels or Nabors and Thomas to throw too, so how much change do you see ??

Nuss is not a statue. He can run, just not nearly as fast as Daniels.

Does he have touch like Daniels? How about Burrow? Nope and nope. I’ve seen him try to throw the ball through receivers that were 10 yards down the field. I’ve seen him not drop the ball in on a receiver many times. So while he has a great arm, he doesn’t have great touch. He doesn’t have elite touch. He doesn’t have good touch. He has about an average touch on the ball. You can’t overthrow running backs out of the backfield. You can’t try to throw the ball through receivers. I’ve watched every single pass of his the last couple years and I think he will be a great quarterback, but I don’t think he’s nearly there yet. His coaches will say the same thing. This is about reps.

We will need to the the ball better and more often with Nuss. Daniels was so dangerous on 3rd and long. He could turn a ten yd sack into a 30 yd run. If they rushed too many , and he escaped, he would punish the defense.

No knock at all on Nuss, but it’s asking a lot of any qb anywhere to replace a heisman winner. Keeping Nuss out of 3rd and long will be critical. Play action on first down is the best down to pass, but play action depends on the threat of a real running game.

It will be the same offense, but LSU will have to rush the ball better than last year. The development of our running backs will be critical.

You’re such a dolt.

This was Daniels’ 4th year of starting and he didn’t show touch until week 4 or so of this year.

Nuss has superior arm talent - strength and touch. It’s not even close. Nuss just needs time to learn that he doesn’t need to do it all himself. There will be talent around him.

It won’t take 4 years for him to figure it out.

Straight RPOs will replace 70% of Daniel's read option and RPO plays. Another 15% will be WR screens and the other 15% will be an increase in RB workload. The rest will stay the same. The RPO and boundary screens will take advantage of Nuss' quick release and arm strength, similar to Burrow, if he can handle the mental aspect of the RPO on this level.

Offense will still be really good but will have to contend with more turnovers.

I would say it will open up

lmfao

but that is not possible so I think the passing game stays the same and the delayed hand off and RB running game and screen game picks up a lot.

No he doesn’t. Not right now he doesn’t. He may develop to be, but he certainly doesn’t now.

Does he have a stronger arm? Sure. But, accuracy, placement, touch, are all far more important than sheer strength.
