This is almost certainly an internal investment.
Almost certainly.
So we think. Got it
ETA: Even if it is internal, investments imply returns. This is no longer those donors giving money in exchange for a tax write off and some intangibles. They are giving money to get money.

These donors are being asked to pay buyouts, pay for rosters, facility upgrades, and buy recruits just for football.
At some point the ask becomes too large. LSU is getting in front of that by rewarding people who have invested large sums of money.
I don’t like the current state of college sports anymore than you do, but this is what must be done.

All donations to TAF. I.e. a tax write off with intangible benefits and an ability to recoup the donation.
Investments are entirely different and require repayment from said investment to recoup anything.

They haven’t invested anything. They’ve donated. Again, entirely different.

This is highly debatable.

Threw out a hint earlier. It’s going to absolutely be a game changer.
That is not a hint

Sconeman is the most plugged-in LSU media personality.
If he says it’s not true, it’s not true
If he says it’s not true, it’s not true

Hope not. Would be better off getting that investment from Todd Graves and then giving him the equity.

This is something that actually makes sense. Way more sense than having any sort of PE deal, no matter who would be involved, buying stake in LSU athletics.

Could be a backdoor sort of way for a PE firm to get its hooks in though. Probably what it will be is LSU is a member of an LLC with other investors (firms, individuals, whatever), and then LSU gets the $100 mil cash and has to pay back that capital to the other members or something like that. I am not against this mind you but we shouldn't have the impression it's all cush for LSU and the fact there seem to be some trying to give that impression should be seen as a red flag.

Guy on scones show right now said Greg Williams looked very trustworthy after meeting him for the first time last night. Everything’s all good.

Capital One Tiger Stadium sounds great

Until I see it come from Ross Dellenger or someone similar I don’t believe it. Who the hell is Julie O’Donoghue?

I could definitely see a corporate sponsored stadium name coming soon
Jokes aside. It could happen for sure. Kentucky did it I know LSU fb isn’t Kentucky fb but still. Money is money.
