Bama will be crying for a Saban disciple in a few years if Deboer can’t win anything of note.

Fun fact: Pete Golding’s brother is married to Mikie Mahtook’s sister.

Not happening. Bama doesn't have the funds. They're living off of Saban's legacy.

Bama has zero shot to get Lane. Where does this even come from? The boosters at Bama would be absolutely pissed if they hired Lane. He burned bridges there and that's if he's even interested in ever returning.

Meh... Time heals all wounds, and if he were to put together a 5+ year run with a national championship here I could see them coming around eventually if DeBoer crashes hard.

That's a hypothetical though, and a very insane scenario. I don't think LSU has to worry about that anytime soon though. I'll just try to enjoy the ride

With NIL the field has been leveled and the gross advantage Bama had with its “Boosters” has been eroded significantly. In other words Bama post NIL is not the same job it was before!

I honestly believe Bamma rumors will be calling for Jim Harbaugh or Cignetti within a few years. Considering whether or not Cignetti can keep Indy competing!

If Lane becomes the 4th coach out of the last 5 to win a Natty, he can leave when he wants and go where he wants and I'll wish him well.

My guess is that the same person who told him to leave Ole Miss for LSU would tell him not to leave LSU for Bama.

Saban is in Kiffs ear and I think LK listens. It would mean a lot for Saban to repeat the line, “The biggest mistake I ever made was leaving LSU”.

I think the NFL is next for Lane. I think he'll want to prove his first go with the Raiders was the folly of youth and to prove he can succeed at the level. Question is how long before he does?

I don't think they could afford Lane. Who could? We aren't paying that kind of guaranteed money again. We pay Jimbo through 2032 or something stupid like that. Who pays Lane more than $91M?

Who is the highest paid coach in the NFL and what does he make?

I don't think any NFL team is going to pay his buyout if that's what you are getting at but that's really never stopped any coach from leaving that really wanted to go.

You have a better shot at coaching Bama than Cignetti does.

He'll retire at Indiana after they finish all of the renovations to their stadium and football facilities. He'll get a statue.
