They're not a Top Ten team, any more than Miss. State was last year.

UCLA will likely finish about fourth in the Pac-12 South division

I do actually think UCLA is better than people are giving them credit for. They were physical on both sides of the lines, and they had a plan, were well coached, and executed the plan well. They could surprise the Pac 12 this year especially given how the rest of the Pac 12 looked. I give them credit for showing up and throwing punches and not stopping when we didn't resist

That said, it was unacceptable the way we performed Saturday. I could have understood if it was just one of those days where you turned the ball over a lot or something, everyone has those days from time to time. But you got pushed around at the LoS on both sides of the ball, couldn't run block or pick up a blitz to save your life on offense, and kept taking terrible angles and letting people get extra yards and eventually scoring because of terrible EFFORT and technique.

I’ve noticed the excuse makers are using the exact same excuses that were used during the Miles era.

You are mistaking me for someone else. Feel free to search my post history. I think LSU will be 8-4 because of the linebacker and O-line play. 8-4 sucks but it is not a dumpster fire. Did I say O should survive 8-4, make an excuse? No, I didn’t. I just think UCLA has the key elements to be a good team. Stout lines, 20 returning starters, an experienced QB, smart coaching, bruising RBs, and play in a weak conference.

You didn’t say UCLA had elements of being a good team you said they are a top 10 team. What you’re implying is an excuse and what you said is incorrect no matter how much you crawfish on those statements.

There are better run high school teams.

Watch UCLA lose to Udub.

I see your point. I should have said that I think they will end up being a top 10 team. I didn’t mean to imply it as an excuse. LSU got beaten. It was a pretty good game until somewhere in the 4th quarter. If LSU doesn’t use this game as a learning experience and improve, then I may end up revisiting the dumpster fire comment. SEC teams will use this game to plan against them. And hopefully LSU will be smart enough to know that and counter plan.

I agree. This may be their best team in the last 6-7 years, but that isn't saying much.

I see them at perhaps 8-4. Fresno might give them a good game this week.

Why stop there?

Maybe theyre the best team ever? Which means, we're the second best team ever? So we should wreck shop the rest of the way?

So we’re outside the top 10 is what you’re saying with 4/5* athletes?

I think you’re right but from what I’ve seen we’re not going to change enough to correct it in time. We have a year or more of film on some of these guys we’ve got out there and there’s no way they should still be starting yet Orgeron keeps the same personnel on the field. If you listened to his comments at lunch he doesn’t think we’ve got much to fix so don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

I have heard people who know more than you break down the game and it’s actually very bad. We were beaten by basic things. They had two runners have just about 100 yards each. Their QB only completed 9 passes but threw for 260 yards. O even said they didn’t even practice the type of offense they were running and our dc couldn’t figure it out and adjust. We only ran the same two run plays all game. We couldn’t block them without TE and RB help. All they did was blitz all night and our qb couldn’t take advantage (for the most part). He couldn’t make accurate throws down the field.

Maybe UCLA is pretty good, but we are a god damn clown show of a program atm. That was a disgusting display. Take out a shoe throw and we are Ole Miss from Os previous tenure rn.

I guess you’d be the same person who’d say Mississippi State was a top 10 team last year

Even if the were, but they are not. We looked like easy pickings in the 2nd half. Poor coaching and poor attitudes.

We will see how UCLA's season progresses. They have a good HC, lots of experience on that team, and great momentum now. And I would bet they wont end up as bad at State did last season after whipping us in TS.

Stop the run cover the tight end and they are not going to score more than 21 which nowadays is not gonna win a majority of games.

They do play in pac 12 which certainly helps them but i would guess them to be a top 20 team at this point.
