Great voice. Almost too good though, seems like you are listening to a generic major league play by play guy.

TBO it was hard to follow what was going on in the baseball game I listened to him do. For example one player hit a triple and he made it sound like barely a double

Agree. Sounds like a MLB game.

I'll wait until football, but like others said, professional, no tiger ties so he doesn't really have the passion.

Easy transition. Love his style. Glad I get a score on a regular basis and not going 3 innings without knowing who is winning and by how much. Best hire LSU has made in years.

you must be a huge drama queen in real life. you probably also say JH would say there is a long drive caught by the 2nd sacker.

If you could listen to Jim's first baseball season back in the 80s, they would probably sound similar - the difference being Jim is a Louisiana native.

You have to consider that Blair is not only adjusting to a new job. He's also adjusting to the unique culture that is southeast Louisiana. Give him some time and he will be just fine. His voice is outstanding. The content will improve as he becomes more comfortable.

So happy that moron Hawthorne is gone. Anything with a pulse would be an upgrade from that hack.

Only on the rant could people complain that a guy sounds too professional doing something. I like Blair, he has a good voice for it. I do think him and doug aren't working out as well. Doug was good in spot duty in the past but I'm not sure about him being the color guy.

Let it go... It's not really funny anymore

As far as his play by play, I think he does a phenomenal job of actually calling the games, I just find his voice to be a little bland

I like him ok. He seems very passionate on twitter and in interviews, but very reserved on the air. Jim used to drive me nuts in baseball with his constant complaining about the length of the game and his questionable depth perception issues.I am anxious to hear Chris call football.

no shite

call me crazy, but if I'm listening to a game on the radio, I'd rather know what the frick is going on over a a senile, grumpy old man botching calls left and right but "bleeds purple and gold baw"

Yea, I'd rather know the score and have an accurately called game if I have to listen on the radio. I think Blair with Charlie would have been a better combo than bringing in Doug Thompson. Hopefully Thompson can improve as he goes on.

On a side note - am I the only one that thinks the "Tweet your stories" segment is useless and corny? DT seems so determined to get that stuff crammed in that they invariable miss an at bat or two.

I think he's been fantastic. I've actually chosen to listen rather than stream a couple of times. It's a breath of fresh air to hear a true professional call our games.
