You do realize that Durham and Berry probably played with the 3rd string Offensive Line last night and a stacked box when they knew we weren't throwing the ball?

I’m looking for us to take a big step forward in the passing game against Tech, this will give the receivers and Levitt a chance to develop their timing in a game situation.
We need to have a good strong passing game to beat Ole Miss on the road, coupled with the running game.

WR "Drops" were a major issue with "Used Car Salesman" Hankton.
Hope that isn't an issue moving forward with McDonald and Jordan.

Not as worried about Berry. But man, Durham looked like he was running through cement, plus how he went down at 1st contact.

Durham and Berry currently are not playoff level backs
Just dumb.

#15 is legit…dude is going to be a #1 pretty soon. He’s got the dog

That’s the same thing I was thinking. He hit that sideline after that catch and all I saw was blazing speed. He made a diving catch toward the end of the game too. Get him on some go routes and some screen passes and let him eat!!

I'll bet you don't see Berry/Durham heavy until the Ole Miss game.

quote:Yep, I meant to include this in my OP. The WRs dont look super confident minus maybe Watkins and Green. I hope they step up, and hope Leavitt having balls batted down doesn't become a recurring theme....
Leavitt needs to get better at finding throwing lanes. He had several balls tipped or batted by the D line. I didn't realize he was so short.

Batted balls was my biggest concern. I think drops is an easy fix. Having a smaller frame QB throwing through predictable tight windows is not an easy fix.
I’m super excited. This just a concern w 4 batted balls last night.

I thought about the receivers and that dude Aaron Anderson is a fricking idiot who convinced him he could go to the pros lol he would have benefited the most from this kiffin system.

quote:Yes I meant to include that in my post. Im concerned that our passing game lacks a true #1 WR. Lots of speedster but no prototypical WR...
. This just a concern w 4 batted balls last night.
Im also concerned if Dilin Jones goes out we could be up shits creek in a hurry..
As of now, Berry is still young, but he and Durham seem nowhere near ready for SEC or playoff material as far as what we need to keep the offense moving.

quote:Yes but even so I dont think our taller WR are as talented as some of the smaller faster ones and i think this could be a big disadvantage. Leavitt is also short it appears he has trouble with batted balls. Don't get me wrong, I love what LSU has done so far I just can't help but look to the future with SEC play looming and the competition only beginning to increase.

It’s too early to make a judgment on the wide receivers. The rhythm and timing of the passing game can improve so much over the first month, especially with a new quarterback and wide receivers. Last night was the first time for anyone other than Watkins to run the offense in competitive action.
