If anyone is like me, when you’re done watching the tigers play baseball you still have the itch to watch more.
I turned on Nebraska vs ULL and saw that their field is turf.
It just isn’t baseball… No dirt on the jerseys

Instant replay, the DH, extra wide first bases, pitch clocks and 10 run rules just aren’t baseball either. The turf field is at the bottom of the list of things that suck.

Get ready to watch 3 games of LSU playing on an all-turf field when they travel to Austin next month.

Pathetic.

Instant replay and wide first base are the only things I can agree with you. The rest I believe has improved the game. Turf is at the very top of my list of bad baseball

Of all these things, I’d ditch the turf before any of the rest.

The only excuse would be for northern teams that just can’t have grass because of the snow and sloppy conditions in the early season. No reason for a team in the south.

My only issue is the mound. Turf is superior to dirt/grass. It just is. Rain doesn’t matter, only lightning. No such thing as a bad hop for infielders. No crater of a right hand batters box.

extra wide first bases

The implementation of the green bag beside the white one is a brilliant idea. So many times in college and MLB, there is a dispute about whether the batter ended up out of the running lane. Now, it is 100% obvious. If the batter puts his foot on the green bag, he is in the designed running base path. If he puts his foot on the white bag, he is not.

A genius idea to make what used to be a judgment call...base path violation...is now NOT a judgment call. As simple as black or white...or in this case, green and white.

This guy has never played baseball on a turf field.

I can get past the look, but turf plays completely different than real grass and dirt.

I’ve actually had 9 stitches from a crap hop on dirt. Zero issues on turf. If you think grass/dirt plays safer than turf you’re lying to yourself.

ETA: Safer as far as hops. I’m sure grass/dirt is safer on the lower body I.e. Ankles/knees from cutting.

It all started when "men" began to manscape and women started waxing their vaginas. Nobody appreciates the natural look anymore. God intended for all "mounds" to be natural and messy.

embrace advancement of the game. All other sports do it and it's a good thing.
