Tulane Grad here. Once we realized how bad we were, a bunch of us started going to BTR for LSU games. Tiger fan ever since. Son is currently a soph at LSU. Tulane waived Application fee due to Covid, so he decided to apply for fun. He said they asked for the gender/pronouns he wanted to be known by on campus and said sorry Dad but hard pass. Let's Geaux!

He replied by telling me that he is unable to return the favor tomorrow. He went on to tell me that he actively pulls for LSU's opponent, regardless of who it is. When I probed his reasons, he would not give a rational answer other than to keep repeating, "I'll be dead before I ever pull for LSU."

You should have chuckled and made him feel as small as his little greenie weenie pecked.

bullshite. LSU beat the weenies 8 out of 10 years in the 80’s. Same with the 70’s

Youre saying Tukane didnt beat LsU 3 out of 4 games in the early 80’s?

Thats funny, because I heard LSU legend Hokie Gajan say MANY TIMES he lost 3 of the 4 games LsU played at Tulane while he was there.

"One Tulane fan has an unhealthy hatred of LSU. Therefore, all Tulane people suck."

Maybe he just pities your inability to reason?

Probably a generational issue. In the 1950's-60's if you lived in south LA and especially New Orleans, you were either an LSU or Tulane fan. Never were people fans of both. Bitter rivalry that LSU normally won. This developed a strong hatred for LSU among Green Wave fans as well as a "little brother" complex. Many parents passed this down to their children and grandchildren, which evidently continues to live in many.

Tulane literally left the SEC and walked away from our rivalry. So they have no room to talk.

Funny thing is, around the time they left the SEC to “focus on academics” (yeah, that was really the excuse they used) they were sort of seen about academically on par with Vanderbilt.

Now they’d be much closer to middle of the pack in the conference in that regard.

I didn't like Tulane to begin with. Too many libitards. But what sealed the deal was when I got into twitter disagreement with a Tulane grad and he, without being provoked, played the "my degree is worth more than your LSU degree" card.

Trust me...they look down their noses at LSU.

New Orleans used to be a tough area to recruit for LSU because Tulane was very active in trashing LSU at the local high schools. Even if they didn’t have a shot at a player, Tulane would make sure the guy didn’t go to LSU.

I’ve sat through more than one Tulane victory over LSU and they are our rival more so than Alabama, A&M, etc.
