Saban: “Five here and one at LSU.”
Trump: “They shouldn’t have let you go, coach. They’re thinking about that.”

I didn't think it was so much an LSU thing, as it was Saban wanted to give the NFL a try.
Coaches sometimes get the itch to try our their abilities at the highest level. Saban realized that the NFL wasn't where his abilities would optimally be spent, and came back to college on a more permanent basis, unforunately.

In hindsight, we should’ve canned Miles the second Saban wanted to come back to the SEC.

Also, “let you go” also means “allowed you to leave”. He’s right. We should have given Saban the farm to stay.
