True or False: The offensive line got significantly better in 2020 as the year progressed.

It seemed to me that offensive line did not start the year well but played much better and more cohesively as the year progressed.

I'm looking forward to next year, and I want some feedback as to others' perceptions of the offensive line's progression last year and the relative outlook for offensive line performance next year.

The last 3 games maybe

They were dreadful most of the year and bottomed out against tamu

Getting some push and ground yards on bama seemed to galvanize them and they were good against florida. Ole miss was just an awful defense so it was good to see no let up

Hello grad assistant.

I'm sure Derek wants you to come here to get feedback. Glad he wants the fans feedback

The o line sucked last year and hasn't been good since James Cregg has been in charge. He also can't recruit o linemen for shite and can't develop.

Edit: I see the coaching staff is salty at my comments and is downvoting. That 2019 o line award was fools gold and saved creggs job. You can hate on me all you want, but I'm not wrong.

They were turnstiles as late in the year as A&M, specifically Hines and Deculus.

So early in we were bad vs bad defenses.

Then we were bad vs good defenses

The. We were good vs Bad defenses

So it’s an improvement at least.

Yes. Max had way more time to throw than TJ did earlier in the season

The O-line kicked arse v. Florida and Ole Miss. Big reason why Max did what he did.

I would say we were pretty mediocre at best in every game I saw. We never really got the running game going the entire season, which is the proof that the O-Line wasnt getting the job done the way it needs to.

They did improve their pass protection as a group in the final few games, but overall line play wasn't what it needs to be if we expect to be playing for national championships again. I do think those improvements will happen, but improvement is necessary for 2021.

they sucked to start the season, but their failure was overshadowed by the record-setting-bad defense. a little less shite show on the D, and we'd have won more

FALSE!! They improved a small amount. Max Johnson was just more elusive than Brennan a Finley and gave himself more time.

NO! Max created more time with his feet! Finley , and Brennan were statues.

They had good moments and bad moments. Hallmarks of a relatively inexperienced group with little cohesion

A&M was game 7 and that was probably the most unprepared and clueless Oline performance I've seen from LSU in years.

Not to mention UF & OM were two of the worst defenses in the country last year.

So no

I would not say they got significantly better

They looked better from the Alabama game through the rest of the season. Much better in the run game and a little better at pass blocking.

That's just not true. Watch the pocket in the florida game versus the Mississippi state game. No question the protection was better. As far as moving in the pocket theres not a big difference in Myles and max

Shanahan improved as the season progressed and the OL in general improved from a group with no cohesion and coming in out of shape with no offseason.

Returning an intact OL and getting a full offseason of conditioning and prep should do wonders for this unit. The same goes for the DL. Some of those guys were carrying bad weight when the season started.

False. Then line was never good in 2020. The only reason it looked better was because Max could run away from pressure
