So the “from Louisiana” caveat that Kelly added didn’t hold for long. lol.

Congrats on the number honor to both young men! Hopefully their performances this year continue to do it justice

Just Mike with 5, they are just numbers.

Name the last time a number 7 had a great season? Fournette?

Chark (felt like he was the only offensive weapon we had at times, and a good returner)

Delpit (maybe not his best but still very good, won a title, won the Thorpe) drafted in second round

Will Campbell- 1st rounder. Best pass blocking tackle we’ve had in a long time (run blocking was clearly due to poor coaching)

Both need to just go back into rotation and hand out captains patches.

Did you start watching LSU football in 2018?

I'm not for getting rid of the tradition. I never said that. I just think it loses it's luster a little bit when you award it to 2 players. Please work on your reading comprehension.

He's 21st in LSU history in career rushing yards. Only once in his career did he rush for more than 500 yards in a season, 2007. And that season is not even in the top 10 in LSU history in rushing yards. He only had 4 100 yard rushing games in his entire career. Juxtapose that with Charles Scott who had 6 such performances in 2008 alone. Scott also has nearly 600 more career rushing yards than Hester...in 8 LESS career games.

By all accounts Hester had a "good" career. He's just more highly thought of by the fans because of ONE game (Florida, 2007)

How about against SEC schools. All the recruits have their pictures taken in the purple jerseys but because old farts lose their shite if lsu wears them they are hardly used.

How about no

We wear white at home. That is our tradition. Saban era decided that we will only wear purple at home for non-SEC games, except for the home opener.

Just when I thought TreyDez was going to be a breakout star. Now he has the kiss of death.

Patrick Peterson (2008–2010): I think he was pretty good all those seasons

Tyrann Mathieu (2011): He was pretty good, I thought. Next season ended badly, though

Vacant (2012-2013): TM got booted right before the 2012 season. Left vacant in 2013; I think that was in anticipation of giving it to Fournette but I am not sure

Leonard Fournette (2014–2016): He was good

DJ Chark (2017): 2017 was his best year at LSU

Grant Delpit (2019): Decent but not a great season.

Ja'Marr Chase (2020): COVID

Derek Stingley Jr. (2021): Injuries suck

Kayshon Boutte (2022): Most receptions at his time at LSU but he seemed to have some attitude issues after O was fired.

Will Campbell (2023–2024): Other than it being an O-lineman, what's not to like here?

Harold Perkins Jr. (2024-2025): The number 7 was not Perks issue.

Hate to tell you this but white jerseys at home have been an LSU thing for oh about a million years aside from the 80s through the mid-90s.

I’m ok with the purples but they need to be worn once a season and that’s it.

Forgive my ignorance.

-Is the #18 still a thing?
-Has it always been (2) players to get #7?

I would have thought Trey'Dez would've gotten #7 and Weeks #18.

Why even say the teams colors are purple and gold? It’s apparently just white. It’s a dumb tradition and by the way I do know my history.
